Have you tried searching the BBS site? I know the finish is called "Diamond Black" on the wheels. If you find out, let me know. I've got a little scratch too.

paint color fo BBS rims on Evo IX MR

Try getting a gunship gray and black from a hobby shop. Why black too? The gunship gray is a little too light, so it is best to mix some test samples up till you get the exact match.

No, the SE wheels have a glossy dark mirror finish.

I need to have mine completely refinished ... the tire shop decided to takes some literal "chunks" from the finish of all 4 wheels and use their impact gun to remove the paint around most of the lug nuts.

Sadly, I can't really complain because a friend gave me tires and that's why it was at the shop in the first place. The shop we dropped the car at sent my wheels to another shop while they got the tires off my friend's car at their shop. It's complicated as hell and I hate it.

the rims on the Evo 9 MR SE are more of a chrome color though. it's not the same as the standard Evo 9's. what color would that be?

Good luck with finding a color. I know scratches suck, but it's going to happen. I hit a curb ever so lightly and scratched my rear wheel. Was super pissed at first, but then realized that it's a DD and there's going to be road damage even trying to drive the safest routes. I'd just say suck it up and drive on.

it's not my priority to fix the rim since its a very small scratch. you can barely notice it, but since I KNOW it's there it bugs me. haha i just want to know what color the rim is so i can fix it in the future.

Any reputable paint shop should be able to match the paint no problem.. There's a shop near me that does awesome work matching any color paint, even if they don't have a paint code to start from.

Back from the dead! I found that the Dupli-color touch up paint found at most part stores(Autozone for me) for a Toyota color called Phantom grey pearl (1E3) matches pretty good, no perfect but close.

To bring this from the dead again. The paint on the wheels of the SEs it is a hyper silver. Hyper silver is made by having a black base, with the hyper silver sprayed over the black base, then cleared. To match the color is almost impossible because the hyper silver is a pain to get it right and depending on how many times it is dusted on it changes from a dark hyper to a light hyper. This is also the reason why it does not look completely uniform from one light source to the other.
