Buschur or WORKS?
No worries, Jarrod.
I just wanted to chime in for the guy that started the thread about my great experience with WORKS. I was extremely happy with their customer support, their products, and my car's performance and felt I should share that.
I really don't have any personal experience with Buschur, but anyone that knows anything about the Evo should realize that they have a fantastic reputation, as well.
Cheers!

As for the mods that have made this power, it's basically a stage two with a fuel pump. Thats about it.
I was worried about heat but have yet to see any problems with the car feeling like it is ready to go right back out on the track after 30 min sessions. I did see some elevated oil temps on my first track day in the car but this went away after going to my personal favored flavor of lubrication with about a 15 deg C reduction in temps after an average session.
Aside from that I burn up a lot of fuel, swap pads and tires and thats about it.
With all due respect, I don't think my post was that off topic. Please keep in mind that you represent the vendor in question and you said I'm "whoring up the thread".
How is a legitimate news that off topic?
Another poster asked "How much does WORKS do road race?". I simply answered spdracerut's question.
Needless to say, since it wasn't news about Buschur and you, a representative of Buschur, said I'm whoring up the thread. I take it with a grain of salt.

Why do people still tend to ignore the "BACK ON TOPIC" posts even the ones by the OP.
Stop whoring up the guys thread. Damn.....
EDIT: DetroitEvoIX & toovira: Did you guys read the entire thread or just bits and pieces? I see it was Detroit's first post and toovira's 6th.

Come on, fellas.
I'm sure we can at least agree that they're both great companies to work with.
I've used both of them for my Evos, and they both delivery the products and performance they say they'll deliver. And they both have great customer service --- as is exemplified by Jarrod and Dave @ Buschurs, as well as Kirk, Bill, Pete and Oliver @ WORKS. All of them stand up guys. Guys you can trust with your Evo. And that says ALOT.
Tell you what. Just decide what performance goals you yourself want for your car, and then compare that ideal end result with the particular strengths and tuning rationales of these two fine companies. Whichever is the closest fit should get your business. Don't rely on the opinions of us faceless evom members --- hell, we've all got an opinion.
Just do what makes you happy, and don't look back!

spdracerut's comment was directed in sarcasm to someone who posted a picture of "The Magnum" and said something about WORKS road racing.
You didnt post anything about a positive or negative experience with either company like he asked. The OP wanted opinions.... not news updates in the world of racing. As I said in a previous post im sure he is aware of WORKS does since he asked about them.
And yes you are most certainly correct.... because it wasnt news Buschur Racing I did say you were whoring up the thread.
Get freaking real!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Do as I did.......spend some time in both the WORKS and Buschur forums, (or better yet, give them both a call) and see which company's products, philosophies, and pricing suits your needs best.
I went with WORKS mostly because I liked the fact that they control the boost with an OEM-style boost hose assembly, and not a MBC or EBC. For my goals, this seemed like the best and safest route (plus it looks EXACTLY like the OEM piece).
However, I don't ever plan to add race gas and crank up the boost any higher, so a MBC or EBC is not warranted for my application. But if you want that adjustability, perhaps you want to work with a company that works with these, such as Buschur.
In my opinion, it all comes down to who you prefer to 'tune' your car...........that is the most important aspect to consider when choosing a vendor. There are a TON of companies selling exhausts and other hard parts for Evos, so go with whatever one looks or sounds the best, or your research shows to fit the best. But do your research when it comes to tuning.
On a lighter note, we should all count our blessings we have so many great vendors to choose from, who are still coming out with products for a car that is no longer in production (well, at least the 4G63).

Smart people use WORKS, simple as that.
They know what it means to engineer a product. I don't believe they "over-engineer" anything (I've heard that word used in this thread a few times).
It's a joy to see how much attention to detail goes into each of their products, and when they arrive the instructions make the install very straightforward. There aren't any shortcuts in their design process, and they strive to achieve OEM durability (utilizing factory mounting points, connection styles, boost control, etc.) where at all possible. Many of the parts are designed to look OEM for that "sleeper" look.
Buschur may be a good brand. I've seen a lot of people go fast with their stuff. But their philosophy is different. WORKS employs certified engineers and it shows in their craftsmanship, and unfortunately the price as well.
I personally know a rocket scientist (no joke) in my area that runs almost exclusively WORKS products on his Evo. How can you argue with that?

Hey guys. I'm ready to start spending my hard-earned cash on go-fast mods
I'll be tracking my car occasionally at VIR next year and my Evo IX is my daily driver.
My goal is to create around 330-350whp at a reliable level. Since it's my DD, I'll be keeping the stock cat or possibly upgrading to a HFC. No test-pipe.
Here's what I'm thinking...
Buy all the Buschur parts to create a BR350.
WORKS TR-340 package
It's pretty much the same amount of money for similar power levels.
I would love to hear from guys that have these set ups.
What would you choose?

One more thing: Vishnu Tuning states on their website that they'll reflash your ECU for something like an additional 100hp (+/-). I e-mailed them, and they wrote back that they back up what they claim. Whenever I get back to civilization, I plan on sending mine up to them.

Forgive me if this is a repost (I didn't read all 5 pages), but you might want to consider doing your suspension first. As Pirelli likes to say: "Power is nothing without control"

) having been to three racing schools, have been on roadcouses several times and have done autoxing many times. I've just got to make her faster now
It seems like most of the posts seem to be divided based upon location. Most of the east coast is backing Bushur and the west coast backing WORKS. Makes perfect sense and if I had the money I'd go WORKS drive across the bay to San Francisco and leave my car there for a day. But alas, I never have any money (girlfriends are expensive).
For the original poster, I know this post isn't going to help with your decision at all and I'm restating what a lot of people have already said, you are choosing between two companies that have long supported Evos with a variety of products and know their stuff. No matter who you choose, you'll get your power gains and their service will ensure you're happy. Have fun with results.
