Buschur or WORKS?
Hey guys. I'm ready to start spending my hard-earned cash on go-fast mods
I'll be tracking my car occasionally at VIR next year and my Evo IX is my daily driver.
My goal is to create around 330-350whp at a reliable level. Since it's my DD, I'll be keeping the stock cat or possibly upgrading to a HFC. No test-pipe.
Here's what I'm thinking...
Buy all the Buschur parts to create a BR350.
WORKS TR-340 package
It's pretty much the same amount of money for similar power levels.
I would love to hear from guys that have these set ups.
What would you choose?

Buschur
U will need to loose the stock exhaust...I tried to make it through with leaving it on just was holding me back......
I did cams...cam gears....walboro pump....test pipe.....apr head studs
put down 290 Whp Mustang dyno
Yanked off stock downpipe and eaxhaust went to 3 inch turbo back with bigger hotside tubular manifold ame dyno and boost layed down...
331 whp on same dyno...

Hey man... dont even waste your time with a HFC. either keep the cat or trash her. If you dont use a cat get a mechanical simulator and you wont have any problems...
To be totaly honest i dont like buschur or works products. Granted buschur is geared a little more toward budget but you can do it even cheaper..
get you a used hks rs intake
ebay or used tbe(NO cat)
Used MBC
fuel pump
Failure crew install and Dyno tune
BAM you got some nice power...

adam, you may need to find a cutout in order to hit your power levels... reason being she is going to be so restrictive.... the good part, is you wont need an exhaust really, just either the DP with cutout or TP with cutout.
Power packages are nice, but i bet i can beat their package prices and get you what you need

Thanks for the input so far. Looks like Buschur is in the lead!
As for the comment about losing the stock exhaust, both of those packages have TBE (but keep the stock cat). I'll likely add a HFC as well.
The Buschur BR350 with HFC should put down 370hp/375tq (at the crank).
The WORKS TR-340 with HFC should put down 380hp/375tq (at the crank).

When it comes to road racing, Works is the proven one. Buschur makes good stuff no doubt, but they've always been geared towards drag. The levels and type of stress on a road racing car and different than drag.
Works is pricey, but you get excellent quality and service. I installed their 76mm DP (with the ceramic coating option) and HFC. Great fit, clears the ACD, oil pan, all underbody braces, no rattles, no check engine lights. They also have a nice adaptor that they use with the DP if you mate up to the stock O2 housing. Being an engineer myself, i appreciate their attention to detail and good design. I can't think of anyway to make their DP better to be honest, and that's after looking at many different designs.

to me there is more to it than just getting the most bang out of your buck. this is especially important in picking up an exhaust/intake system for your car as it will affect how much you enjoy your car. I would suggest any reputable 3" TBE decat exhaust that you like the sound, drop in filter (or hks rs if you like the sound of intake), lower ICP, o2 housing, mannual or EBC and if you want more gsc s1 or cosi cams and a good custom tune

I did the Buschur package on my old Evo 8. Buschur makes great power with the Buschur(Dyno)flash, but my car was loud as hell and the package really seemed like it was intended for drivers that really mash the gas. I'm sure dynotuning gets tailored to the driver a bit more, though.
My current Evo 9 has received mostly WORKS components (same path --- 3 inch catless TBE + bolt ons) and has been brainflashed with their P2R. The result was much more refined midrange power control (I assume for attacking corners) and a much less noisy package for my Daily Drive (with their RTP). Even though this is more to my liking, I have to admit that I'd invested about twice as much cash in the 9 than the 8 for the same levels of power, but with less noise.
Even though I've taken the 9 much further than the 8 in the mod path with WORKS, I can still appreciate Buschur's bang for buck mentality.
If you got the cash = WORKS.
If you're strapped = BUSCHUR. (save 75 cents for earplugs)
