Bought a VIII wing for my IX from a vendor on here. He painted it to match my car and sent me some pictures but the inside of the wing (where the carbon fiber meets the GG part of the wing) looks really crappy. Also on the inside of the wing where the bolts are doesn't it looked scratched up?

Is it me or does something look half assed here?

He hasn't shipped it yet or at least I don't think he has...been a little lazy on communication.

 

Found a close of picture of an untouched VIII wing.



Notice the inside where the CF meets the outside of the wing where the paint starts it looks much cleaner.

 

I think you answered your own question, but my VIII wing looks like the silver one in your second post.

 

looks better than my wing. The inside pannel does not come off in any easy manner that I have found. As a result, they probably taped up all the cf bits when they had it painted.

 

it might just be the pictures but the gg one looks like something is wrong with the finish on the carbon fiber like clear coat?

 

It looks like he taped off the CF part and that made for a $hitty paint job. It would probably look better if the wing was taken apart and painted then put back together

 

How hard is it to take the wing apart?

I don't really want to write anything bad about the vendor but I paid for this wing back in the middle of Sept and still haven't gotten it and it looks like crap judging by the pictures.

Hmm, the second picture looks much better, ask him to take more close up pictures.

 

When Mitsu replaced my wing it was sent to the dealer unpainted. They in turn had it painted and the CF side panels were just taped off, they were not removed. It's just the way it is. I don't think it looks bad, its hard to tell from the pics though. Wait till you get it to make judgements on it.

 

I don't think you'll see it... nor will anyone else. Beats the IX wing.

 

Could just be wax residue ...

looks fine to me.. just needs some cleaning and polishing.. the wing does not come apart.

 

What would you reccommened for that?
