Another part of Mitusbishi history is that used to make the motors for the Japaness Zero's (planes) that shot down hundreds of Americans an did Pearl Harbor.
Thats why my grandfather would never get inside a mitsubishi made car. He was shot down but survived in WWII

That's why Mitsubishi Motors won't be going down anytime soon. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is pretty big.
Subaru is part of Fuji Heavy Industries btw, so they're both big players in their own right.

The zero was designed and built by Mitsubishi. The initial engine was a Mitsubishi engine but production aircraft had Nakajima engines. I believe Nakajima also co-produced the airframes.
