Ultimate plan for the Evo.

I had an Evo VIII for about two months now... It's all stock now, but I'm planning and saving for it... I'm planning to save couple Ks during the summer, and get to Buschur. I live in CT but I'm willing to hit the road and meet the master of tunning... I'm planning to put a Fidanza 2.3 clutch with flywheels, 3''TBE, MBC, Intake and get that tune from Buschur... I'm expecting to see numbers anywhere from 320 to 350.. Am i in a right field, and what other little things can I change (pipes or small add ons)... and what do you think of the "ultimate plan", and what could be reasonable price for all these parts and instalation. Thanks!

without cams in your "plan," you wont see anything close to 350 on buschur's dyno with a stock turbo.

throw in some cams, for DD, get a tune on pump gas, and if you want a monster at the track, tune it on racefuel at higher boost.

edit: also get a boost gauge if you havent already and a lower intercooler pipe. upgrade your intake if you wish.

alright... so cams and lower intercooler pipe, sounds good...
I dont want a monster, I just want to make it quicker, to feel more rush and have more fun with it... I'm enjoying every second of stock power, I just thought to add some more to it. It's a few months ahead plan so I got plenty of time to think it over and make it better. Suggestions are allways good... Thanks

Save an extra grand and do cams and a fuel pump at the same time and you will be around 330 whp (witch is close to 100whp over stock), you'll be glad you did

Nothing "ultimate" about that plan, and what the heck is "Fidanza 2.3 clutch with flywheels"????? Hilarious...

Otherwise, your choice to go to Buschur and get basic stg1 mods is very smart. I suggest talking to the Buschur guys and asking them what mods you should get instead of guessing...especially with that whole clutch fiasco you listed...

I disagree....I am the biggest BR nutswinger thier is but...........this guy is going to drive 12 hours to Ohio for a stage 1 car???????? T/B, Walboro, Boost controller, tune??? IMO this is a crazy drive for what he is planning to do.

I am running mostly BR parts and believe me...when I need my engine built or tranny done I will head thier for sure But for bolt ons and a flash that is just a crazy trip.

320-350whp is sensible on an VIII but on racegas only.

i was making 233whp/257tq on Texaco 91octane (Dyno Dynamics dyno) with no tune, 280whp/300tq (Dyno Dynamics dyno) on VP 101octane w/a Dynoflash tune. i changed the gas to Sunoco GT Plus 104octane, retuned & now make 324whp/368tq on a Mustang AWD dyno all in AZ.

they only power mods i have are: 3"DP, 3" TP, 3" catback, Walbro FP, Hallman MBC, K&N drop-in, 10.5cm hotside, & racegas tune obviously...

driving to BR is going to be an experience... If I could find some Evo fanatic as Buschur in NY or anywhere in New England, maybe I go there too... But I dont want to take my Evo to some tunning shop that has mostly done hondas... Maybe I learn something new untill than. I'm just a newbie, I'm just here to gather some information and use it as best as I can..

Dynoflash is in your neck of the woods. You can go to him for TUNING and the parts you specified are fairly easy bolt on parts that any competent shop can install.

I don't know how many miles you have on your car but since you have only owned it for a few months (used?). If it is not slipping I would save the money and hold off on a clutch replacement.

If you have the time, check out buschur's and AMS' stage kits and you will get an idea of an upgrade path.

Thanks for the info.. There is 49K miles on it, and the clutch is not slipping, but I just wanted to upgrade it. I hope it will hold off until summer.
