Ummm, it should. I would be worried as to who has the "other"key, or the other remotes...

You should get two keys and two key fobs. If you only got a key and not a fob, then you need to start raising hell. If you got only ONE key instead of two, then raise more hell. You should have two keys and two key fobs. Yes, we all have remote keyless entry except the RS, which doesn't have power locks.

go back to the dealer and demand to get the other key and 2 remotes. You did make a mistake buying the car and driving away with just one key

Of course you'd also get the key fob from the dealer...figured that would be obvious. It sucks getting a new one made and programmed - costs a lot, and that is not a good enough "answer" from the place you bought it.

yea i found it weird too, but he said the key didnt have a chip in it, so it wouldnt be a problem, sounded kinda sketchy. I just emailed him asking if they have the fob for the one key that they do have..so ill see what happens...would really suck if i only end up getting one key...

Yes, because we have a separate fob - not a one-piece key/fob. Even if they don't have it, the damn previous owner should give it to them. Otherwise, there's someone out there with not only a key to your car but the ability to set your alarm without you being able to disable it. So, you either need the previous key and fobs, or you need to completely change the locks and programming, which would be the dealership's responsibility.

Who cares if it's hard to find, I'd go back to the dealer and ask for your key and 2 fobs and if they can't give you them then make them change your locks.

Same thing happened to me when I purchased my Evo, and also got the same story about the previous owner only giving them one key and thats all. I raised some hell for about a month, finally I just gave up because I'm in another state then the place I purchased my car, and they just stopped answering my calls and emails (still mad!). Went to my local dealership and the one key alone to make is 125 for the key and 90 for programming is what I believe they told me. To get the keyless entry was around another 300 I think. I still have not gotten around to getting this stuff. I am still mad about this after 3 months of owning the car. Good luck bro, hope it works out better for you than for me.

That's a bad situation! I read somewhere that if you lose both your keys or only have one key, that to make another you need to have the ecu re programed to work with the new keys and it is a lot more expensive. Instead of just doing the simple key programming you would do if you have both keys and want a 3rd key or whatever. I need a hook up to get keyless entry and a second key haha.
