I can only sympathize with you when I say that it happened to me yesterday for the first time. I put on my Injen UICP/intake set and had one of my buddies rev the engine so that I can see if I could "hear" if something was leaking (as if I'm a scientist or something). He's not an Import fellah and just when he was getting his rocks off from listening to the intake, he said, "It sounds pretty good". Then... BAM! The hose on the throttle body blows off and I was like
. "Turn it off! Turn it off! Before I read this thread, my paranoia was getting the best of me not knowing if I was even safe to drive my car until I got some clarification. I'm glad that I now have it!also i think its worth getting an IC pressure tester to make sure everything's a-ok

haha be glad you weren't going 80 on the highway when it happed :P
also i think its worth getting an IC pressure tester to make sure everything's a-ok

I'm going to pick up one of those testers you recommended.
By the way, I had all kinds of issues installing the driver's side LICP because it kept slipping out. I had to make a few small incisions in the rubber coupling to get it to finally slide it. I have to be honest with you, I don't want the same thing to happen that did with the throttle body clamp/coupling coming off. Should I be concerned with this considering how far down the intake stream it is?
Imagine this... doing a 3rd gear WOT pull and at 7500 rpm it pops off for the first time... I thought I blew the engine but was praying it was an intercooler pipe! It was the one at the throttle body thank God.
#1 - throttle body coupling comes off at WOT...not so bad
#2 - intercooler pipe comes off at WOT...not so bad
#3 - intercooler pipe comes off at WOT...BAD
I can barely get the thing to move at all with a hose blown off.
T-bolt clamps crush the aluminum pipes on my car so I have been buying a wiggens ($$!!!) clamp at a time every couple months until I have enough to fab a complete set of pipes w/o any conectors or clamps. Should be done in a year or so at this rate. Overkill I know, but it makes me happy

Is there anyone else having issues with the T-bolt clamps crushing the aluminum pipes?
haha! that happened to me a long time ago when i first got my car. drove it to the nearest gas station and popped it right back in with a friend. i didnt do any of the ic testing or change my plugs. it was normal after i popped it back in.
