That would def. be overkill! You would never want to run a 42r on the street, plus for 11's a 35r would be more than enough. Plus with the 2.3 motor it would spool nicely on the road. Also, look into the HTA 35r turbo which has had amazing results with power and spool up.

That should be sub 9. GT35 is plenty and still capable of sub 10. You are new here and will get flamed for not searching. Check out the drag racing section and you will find what you are looking for.

LOL, I thought it would be to much because its around 14k for the engine built and the turbo on the AMS website. Lol, But any thing under 10 I wouldnt want to drive on the street anyway, Thats dangerous as hell..So 2.3L with a GT35 11's or 10's?

3065r or gt35r would be better suited for your needs. A gt42r is a very large turbo and is overkill. But you gotta ask yourself, what is it that you are looking to do with your car?

I suggest you take some time and do some research on here. There is plenty of knowledge on here to make a better decision

YOU can but you dont need to even go that far. The stock blocks going to be better and cheaper for now. You dont need to get a gt35 UNLESS you just want to. My setup with a good driver is capable of high 10's

Think of what you are willing to spend, now double that. Then, ship your evo to AMS, tell them what you want. Double your budget again, then enjoy

Our car goes 10.6's @ 134 Stock block and 35r. There is still some room in our setup, however we are pushing the block to the edge. If your looking to go a low 11, then stock is fine. If you want to go much faster then that, I would recommend a motor build.

you can get low 11's on a stock turbo and bolt ons lol
i know i and plenty of other members have cars in the 11's on stock turbo and bolt ons using well under 5,000 in total parts

i probably don't wanna know, but how old are you?

12's is enough to put a couple car lengths on 95% of cars out there. Even stock in an Evo is pretty damn fast. 12's is easily attainable with just a couple simple bolt ons.
IMO, I would start out with that and save your $ for other mods: suspension, wheels, bigger brakes, sways, struts, etc. Leave the straight lines for the cars and drivers that can only do straight lines . Use your AWD for it's full potential and what it was built for . Check out some Auto-X or HPDE events, I guarantee you will fall in love.

I think he's just wanting some bolt on mod's with a bigger turbo , it would be hard for a bolt on evo to run low 11's without meth/alky or racegas
