it really should not be so difficult... be careful as this is one bolt that would really suck to strip/break...

Go to the dealer now..haha I'm sorry man but never heard of anyone struggling so much with an oil change..while your out buying a breaker bar get some oil filter pliers those can be tight sometime too.

Bring it to the shop...we'll take care of it for you. It's a measly 2,716 mi – about 1 day 16 hours.

as stupid as this sounds my first oil changed required replacing the oil pan since i went the wrong direction when loosening the bolt. Things get tricky when you're upside down under a car for the first time.

Maybe i should get the filter pliers too.... pretty sure imma have a hard time with that too.
My old car didnt give me this much trouble though

How about you bring the shop to me... ill pay for the oil change but thats it.

i dont care if people are laughing at me through the internet. Its just hte people that live in Southern California worries me.... they might find out where i live and then come a knocking at my door step and point and laugh....

When I come across a stuck bolt, I use a rubber mallot and light or aggressive taps to break it loose. This might lower your chances of stripping the threads or breaking the bolt.

I find it easy to lay down with my head facing towards the rear of the car, and get a socket and a wrench and push. I work out though...
