I hope you didn't break anything.

This should not be this difficult and if it continues to be you are doing something wrong, the simplest solution is that you are turning the bolt in the wrong direction. Remember you are under the car so make sure you know what you are doing.

To give you an idea my evo was brand new sitting on the lot since 06 and I got it in Nov 07 with 34 miles on it. I changed the oil at 800 miles and had no problem getting the bolt off

wow, just wow.

you sure its the oil drain plug your loosening and not the turbo boost drain plug? It would make sense because the turbo boost drain plug is reverse threaded, I'm surprised nobody mentioned that yet.

Don't use a impact gun on the oil drain bolt!

Just get better leverage, & use a 1/2in drive wrench. It really should not be that hard, the torque is what 17 ft-lbs?

Take it to the stealership and have them brake torque for you. Sounds like that drain plug is jacked up. Try not to get any oil on that skirt.

I would put the tools down and seek a professional.....obviously you have 0 mechanical abilities and need to refrain from working on your car again.

And here I was being careful not to overtighten and strip out the pan. I don't remember mine being tight at all the first time I changed it.

hopefully you double check those numbers. i know for a fact there are some typo's in the manual concerning torque specs, and in particular an incorrect unit conversion. i believe it is on the cam angle sensor bolt that goes into the cam. if i remember correctly it calls for 128ft*lb and 25N*m.... the correct answer is in N*m and either they did the wrong units or the wrong number was printed.

tap the wrench with a hammer in the right direction....
usually always works. it should never be this hard to get off, so either you or wherever did the last oil change is over tightening the bolt was to much

Maybe your evo just doesn't like the Amsoil and refuses to co-operate. Try putting a 5 qrt jug of Mobile 1 Synth in front of the car before you try again. If that doesn't work, carefully tap on the end of the wrench to get it started. (Turn counter clockwise). Also, just to be safe, I'd replace the bolt when/if you get it off. And when you put it back on or the new one. Use a torque wrench if you can. Set it to 23+-2 lb/ft torque. Good luck.
