Dealer F'd Up My Trunk While Removing Wing... HELP!

Yea as the title states, my dealership scratched up the top of my trunk pretty good while in the process of replacing my wing under warranty! They had a paint repair guy touch it up but it is still noticeable. its right around where the wing meets the trunk. the service guy said it got damaged from the stud of the wing when they popped the old one out.

i'm not quite sure what to do about it. what would u guys make them do? the dealership is Roby Mitsubishi in dublin, oh.
I was thinking of having them repaint the whole trunk lid. or perhaps milk them for some parts. iono? they offered a few oil changes but i declined because i can do it myself for a lot cheaper. so i told him i'll think about it and let him know what i want.

Once you paint it, it never looks perfect. Have them replace the whole trunk with a new one.

I'd want the wing removed and the trunk buffed out and color matched. Tell them you want it to look like it did when you brought it to them. Simple as that. If they have to paint the whole dang thing then that's what has to be done. Don't gimp out and let them get away with messing up your car. If they don't fix it right you will look at it every time you open your trunk and kick yourself.

tell them you will bring it to your painter (find the best painter you can find and give them the estimate, they must pay for it.

they F up, they must pay.

if you F something up then you must pay.

They would have to either repaint it or replace the whole trunk. This is why I avoid the dealership service depts like the plauge.

Tell them you want the car returned to you in the same condition as when you dropped it off or you will report them to the BBB.

+1

There is absolutely no reason you should leave the dealer at loss from when you came in. NO REASON. Get it professionally color matched until YOU are satisfied then let them know how much dough they need to cough up. Any trouble? Call their regional reps...bring that up and they'll do it no problem...

I agree i stay away from the dealerships as much as possible.. but sometimes you have to deal with them wing replacements, calipers pealing things like that.

I wouldn't wait a week to give him an answer either, the quicker you go in and tell them what you want will only help.(they'll see you ain't messin around) Point out to them that "I know accidents happen but I think it would only be fair if I took it somewhere and you guys pay for the paintwork." good luck

Sorry to hear of your trouble.

They should give you the car back in the condition you gave it to them in. Nothing more nothing less. Is there some sort of issue with the wing that they are extending the warranty on? It seems that an '03 would be out of warranty.

I agree to stay away from dealers. I just had my transmission repaired under warranty (5 years 60,000 miles drivetrain warranty). It was grinding into fifth and sometimes fourth. They had the car for nearly three weeks. I didn't care because I wasn't using it at the time. The transmission feels new. Probably because it really is new. They did a good job.

After I drove the car for the first time at night I noticed I can't see any gauges except the left side of the speedo up to about 80mph. I brought it back and they said that the bulb was out. Makes sense but why did it happen when they had the car?

Sorry for the rant.

it technically is out of warranty.. but i called mitsu corporate a couple times and they gave in and replaced it for me.

i do stay away from the dealer as much as possible but for this i couldn't. i do my own oil changes. and my car to a well known performance shop here in columbus.

thanks for the advice guys. i will call him tomorrow and let him know i want it fixed properly. either repaint at a shop i choose or replace, seems to be the option.

G-D dealers. They are like an incompetence magnet when it comes to the techs who land there.
