id keep it off, i just dont like it cause i dont have super wide wheels and im not too low :-/

 

i removed it on my evo x and get about as much attention. not from the same people though, most think it looks better. as do i.

I agree, only a newb will make the mistake...or someone that has never cared about performance cars. Anyone worth their weight in flesh can recognize the difference.

 

I really like my car without the wing but I don't feel like having the body shop putty and paint the lid

 

Take the wing off you become invisible. Also I used to have a RED Evo VIII and then traded it in for a GGIXMR and even with the wing I get way less attention.

i did get pulled over once coming home from work at about 1030 pm for how loud my stock exhaust was, as well as my tints. I didnt get a ticket luckily, probably because i didnt act like an ***.

 

i read that comment a lot from people who have taken off the wing. I think its better to just cover it up with tape, or plugs painted with touch up paint-then you can put the wing back on if you change your mind or you have a track day!

 

i had the ghetto wing for ~3 weeks....i'm 44.

bought a basic lancer rear wing.....1st mod & well worth it!

imo, the bulk of the fenders require some type of wing & the lancer wing fits the bill + you dont have to worrry about those empty trunk lid holes!

I had a RR Evo 8 as well and it wasn't as much of a attention getter as some other RR owners make it out to be. It had the wing as well. My GG 9 doesn't get any attention at all with the wing. In the 2 years I've owned it, I've had 2 cars try to initiate a race with me.

I just turned 34 last weekend and I've been tossing the idea around to take my wing off, but I can't do it until I at least lower it. Its either all or nothing. I would do the Rexpeed lip spoiler, but that requires you to take the emblem off.

 

Maybe because I'm female and don't really like my car to stand out physically (I'm in this for the performance of the car), I initially never liked the wing and it bothered me at first with the blocking of my rear view. I've since gotten used to having the wing there, although I do question whether it is a cop magnet although I haven't been pulled over yet for anything. The wing looks really neat and without it I don't like the look as much and it seems to take away from what is the biggest physical hallmark of this car. I have been debating this exact topic since I bought my EVO. Until I make the final decision, I have found a purpose for the wing...I use the wing to find my car in a large parking lot as no one else has it.
