Current Issues, Need new help with new questions. (Wastegate Issue)

Well as some of you might know i recently had a problem with the car starting, if not heres the thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=318316

Anyway this is n update. Pulled spark plugs and all were fine but 1 needed to be gapped, so we gapped it, and one needed to be closed a little so we closed it. Then we did a few other basic checks and we got it to start up n idle by itself. It would die a few times then suddenly once it was warm it would idle by itself. But the reason it sounded so weird was basically an exhaust leak, or atleast what we thought was one. I sat in the car while my friend heard around for a leak, when he felt and looked under the car and felt my wastegate dump and realized the wastegate is spitting out air asthou the vacume is holding it open. So we came to the conclusion that theres either something wrong with the wastegate itself, or the spring, or possibly the boost controller (some dinky manual one CFT installed for me as a temp thing.) So i had the the idea of pulling the vacume off this stupid boost controller from the wastegate. And we turn in on and slazam the car is idleing amazing, @ 1100 just like it was tuned for but the wastegate is still loud as hell so its still dumping air so something is wrong it the wastegate.

So my first question is, what could be wrong with the wastegate? Possible a spring issue? Also how much could this cost to fix?

Second question, we took the intake off of my turbo and the intake (stainless steel from bushur racing) is hitting my turbo intlet and causing little shavings from the turbo inlet to get inside of the turbo, and one of the blades is very slightly chipped (on the bottom of the blade) Also to be honest i dont know exactly what this means but my friend said i had a little bit of shaft play. Now ive had the turbo on for about 9000 miles. Is this normal wear and tear? Also what would you do if your turbo was like this? Im considering sending i to FP and having it rebuilt to an HTA 35r.

Third Question, Boost Controller. Currently im running an HKS EVC 5, and to be honest i love it, love the display and love the looks and everything but i need to sell it for money. What do most of the shop cars run, AMS And Bushur? Dont they just run a manual boost controller? Im considering just buying a good manual one and being done with it. What do you think?

How the heck is the intake pipe hitting the turbo inlet????? Isn't the intake pipe separated from the turbo inlet by a coupler???

I'm just saying cuz I have the same intake kit but on the stock turbo. I guess your GT35R is pretty big!

possibly the shop that installed my turbo and intake put the pipe to close in on the coupler and therefore when the intake moves whenever it hits the the turbo inlet?

the diagram of the wastegate could be damaged.

they are re-buildable for a reason.

Oh okay. Well you should talk with the people at buschur to see if they sell a rubber ring or something to protect the turbo inlet cuz those little fragments can screw up what's left of your turbo.

I'm saying , they just run a manual boost controller because it's very simple and works every time.
but i prefer my EBC.

last time I checked the blades don't stick out and the intake pipe is most likely the same diameter as the turbo inlet...therefore I highly doubt your intake piping is being eaten by your turbo blades

with so much money in your car you are worried about saving a couple hundred bucks on a boost controller? you just installed a $1,000 ems, $600 cams, and a $400 meth kit and paid who knows how much to get it tuned and put together

whatever you gotta do I guess

aside from that it sounds like you got in a little deeper than you could swim

Not exactly what I was saying. I was saying that the intake pipe is to deep into the coupler so its meeting the turbo inlet or w/e the piece is called. not the actual blades. s

Send that turbo into FP and get it converted to a HTA35 and get a new wastegate. Buy the dual stage buschur racing manual boost controller with high and low boost so you flip the switch to drop it to low when you run out of meth. Get your AEM retuned by TTP!
