went to go buy a 9 today..
went to go buy a 9 today..
so i drove down to mass to pick up 9 at a dealership, i was trading in my 8
its a
2006 evo 9 SE, 14K miles, stock, mint condition. they wanted $29k for it.
i was trading in a
2005 evo 8 SSL, 58K miles, a little less then mint condition..
they said they were gonna give me $20k for a trade in, and they wanted $29k for theres, i owed $23k on mine.. so i woulda been into this evo for $32,000... so list minute i backed out.. i will just get one off evom..
later on...
appearently i went to the wrong sales guy... the guy my brother talked to said they would give me $22k for mine and i could get the 9 for $27.5k...
what do you guys think... did i make a good choice.... by wAlking away

If you want a clean, low mileage Evo IX SE (which it sounds like you've found one) and you'll only lose $1000 on your trade and get the IX for $27.5K, that sounds like a good deal. Get in touch with the other guy and see if you can make it work.
Just curious, why do you want to trade an '05 VIII for an '06 IX? If you had an older VIII I might understand but there's not much of a difference between an '05 VIII and a IX, is there?
h
not really turbo mivic seats and some other stuff
but a built 8 is better then a 9 imo

They're asking way too much for it, especially since it has 14k miles. I don't think it matters that it's in mint condition, it's still got all those miles on it. I got my SE for $33k out the door, and that was too much. You can get it for much less. Maybe you should try somewhere else.
even better yet.. make a few more payments until your car balances out.. the value of our cars isnt going down anymore any time sooner... i think youd get 20k now or even with 5k more in 5-6 months...
cheers!
cheers!

I wouldn't really describe his 8 as a built one. his mods will just let him barely be close to the the stock IX SE. aside from the MIVEC, alcantara seats, you also have the BBS rims, aluminum roof, aluminum side impact protection, different turbo, closer ratio 5 speed, more oil jets for the pistons and also a different O-ring for the pistons(from 3 piece to a 2 piece set), etc.
I paid 27800 for my evo 9 gsr (new) and it was about 29200 out the door from south coast mitsu. I think u can find a better used car. Also when u buy from a dealer you have no clue how that car was treated for 14000 miles. it could have been abused like no other.
