really clean install. Lot of extra stuff if you don't have an elaborate stereo system though.

And, i might be missing something here, but the extra in-line fuse really isn't necessary so long as you still utilize the stock fuse on the Positive cable bundle.

also, i put mine on the passenger side of the trunk unlike most other ones that ive seen. im usually in it by myself and thought it would make a better balance. and i ran the cable in through the hole on the passenger side of the firewall too so it was easier to cleanly keep the cable on that side.

I am NOT a fan of the Gel Batteries... I replaced deep cycles in my boat to these BLUE tops and they will not hold a charge even for a week with a very small draw..or a few hours with the Tunes going (2 amps)

I do have the Mini batt in my IX and have left the interior light on all night and it starts the next morning, also have played the stereo for a few hours and no prob. as of yet (Stock system pretty much). When cranking its naturally does not have the CCA's that a bigger batt has, but so far its doing the trick for me. Even in the Cold. I pretty much drive it every day though..

Good luck.. Have you tried replacing it yet?

you've ran your car stereo for a few hours with a mini battery and the car not running and it held its charge? Thats amazing, and contradicts about every other post on the topic the last few days. What battery do you have in the Evo?

I bought a small duracell jumper and jump my mini battery whenever it dies.

It's tedious but I can live with it.

its only going to live so long like that. also, a battery that continually dies is not good for the rest of the car. Mine tripped my immobilizer one time and i was completely stranded.
