Crashed My IX tonight (i hate snow)
its def the tires...thats what makes contact with the road..
every time i tell someone yea i spun out or something, they say but the evo is AWD..like that means its invincible...snow is snow is how i see it

you know these cars are all wheel drive and supposed to give you cofidence in the snow,my evo was the opposite so much understeer it was scarry,i lost it a couple of time in the snow but luckily did not crash i did in the rain though twice by spinning out,front wheel drive gives you the most confidence in bad weather hands down,all wheel drive is good not to get stuck but thats about it,overated
AWD is far superior to FWD in winter but it's not as intuitive to drive. In a FWD car, if you're sliding or losing grip, you instinctively let off the throttle. In an AWD car, this leads to havoc and will just throw you into a spin or keep you sliding.
exactly, thats why alot of newbies crash/spin evos, myself included. until you learn how to drive an AWD car, its worse than FWD.
whats with people always saying add gas when you loose control.
On my 2+ hour trip back from ct, when ever i felt traction loss i just slowly let go of the gas pedal, and all was fine. I rather crash at 35mph than 50mph.
