Like I said people don't take to kindly to brake checking maybe you'll learn the hard way some day when somebody kicks your *** or something. What makes you think the person behind you is riding your bumber for the hell of it.

I HATE it when people cruise in the left hand lane when the right hand lane is clear. I usually zip by them on the right and then switch back in front of them. I will sometimes slow down in front of them to make them move over. I know it is immature but damn, it just pisses me off.

Y brake check though?

WHen your cruising in 5th gear just put it in 3rd, works just as well and you can't get in trouble for it. If anything were to happen while you were brake checking and got into an accident and if he had a witness, you would be at fault! Just remember that.

Damn, nice technique! That's like Stage 2 Brake Checkage.

We just passed the law not too long ago... Doesn't mean anyone gets ticketed for it, going 80 and "following-too-close" are bigger tickets, so they'll pull you over for that before they'll pull someone over for 72 and "going too slow"

As for people not taking kindly to brake checking, I did it in the Evo once forever ago, the guy followed me into my neighborhood (no, I didn't go to my house) and when I went back out onto the main road he was pwned. And I laughed. Go ahead and TRY to take it out on me, if you can keep up, chances are if I brake checked you, you can't. I don't brake check sports cars/fast drivers, I move over and move back. I brake check dumbasses and *******s, not people who can actually manage to (and are) driving fast.

And 99.9% of the times they won't be able to prove, even with a witness (who will probably end up being more on your side then the other driver's anyway, whether they know it or not), that you were intentionally doing it and are somehow the one at fault. "Yes officer, he slammed his brakes very hard, and the driver hit him"..."okay, so, basically he was following too close to be safe?"..."uh, no... the other guy did it on purpose"..."but still, the guy at fault is the one who was following too close for safety, what if a person/cat/etc jumped out in front of the other driver?"

We (my dad) rear-ended a civic who brake-checked him, we were at fault, the civic got a new bumper. It was VERY clear the Civic did it on purpose (he was behind us riding our tail, my dad slowed down, he went around and slammed on his brakes). We had 3 witnesses (it was by a gas station). Cops said there was nothing we could do to prove anything, and it was our fault.

He would still be at fault. Failure to avoid an accident and following to closely. Witness shmitness...if they tried bringing that up, you could fight it easily.

haha! I've discovered most drivers on the road like being in control. I had one guy speed up in a lane next to me to try to prevent me from making a lane change infront of him. I dropped a gear, got in front of the fine gentleman anyway. He didn't like that very much and followed me/tail gated me for about 30 minutes. It was both uncomfortable for me and humourous at the same time.

And a good one at that, not to many other street cars stop like us... so its either hit us, or drive off the road.. Seems very effective.

The even more interesting aspect is that there are just as many Aholes that drive just like that on this forum ( every once in a while you read someone calling someone else out on the forum in a regional)

I hate to brake check people unless it absolutely necessary. If they are tailgating me, then they can tailgate me until they have an oppertunity to go around. Why escalate the situation by brake checking anybody? I don't have any problems with SRT-4's either, most of the time its little stupid Civics that bother me and I just ignore them and they'll buzz bomb by me and thats that.

forgot to add this, but PA now is targeting AGGRESSIVE DRIVERS. I talked to an officer a few weeks back, and he claims they are FAR less concerned with the 7/10 over person rather than the guy switching lanes and tailgating even at the speed limit...

The real problem with brake checking is that if someone is riding your a$$ because they are not paying attention a brake check is libel to cause an accident. Sure, you might just get a JDM bumper if you survive.

*tsk tsk* Boy those pesky High-Revving civics.

Had one tailgating me last week, I switched lanes, let him passed me up and boost shifted right on HIS @$$. He got out the way and gave me the thumbs up. I normally try to stay calm, but Damn does it get annoying sometimes.
