I usually take a slightly milder approach when I'm tailgated ...

Normally, I'll just get over and let them by. If they are a little too aggressive, I just downshift a gear or two and shoot a few fireballs from the exhaust. They generally back off in fear of a melted bumper.

I don't agree with brake checking as it can be quite dangerous. A while back my wife was driving us to the store in her VR swapped Cabrio. A guy in an EK Civic full of his friends revved at her at a light. She accelerated a little quicker than usual up to the speed limit and he tried his best to keep up.

Apparently the guy was extremely pissed about being beaten by a girl in a chick car in front of his friends, he decided to start driving totally nuts trying to cause an accident. He was passing cars on the shoulder, in turning lanes and even in to oncoming traffic to get in front of us and slam his brakes. We eventually had to pull off the road to get away from the guy. His behavior could have cause several major accidents.

I know we all have our moments on the highway/street ... just please don't drive like a jerk on purpose. That guy tailgating you might be a d**k, but he could swerve to avoid you and hit someone else that's just minding their business.

i also hate whem some people just hang around me on the highway for miles and miles. whether i speed up, slow down, change lanes, they'll stay near by, like those sucker fish on sharks. these aren't even ricers or anything, just regular cars. there'll be other cars around and if i decide to make a few lanes janes to get through the slow pokes, these "sucker fish" speed up and follow my moves, but then never really speed up to go their own way. it's like they wanna be my new best friends or something. damn stalkers.

then there are the "ghosts". you prolly know them. the ones that speed match you while they hang in your blind spot when there are no other cars on the highway. they're hoping to go fast, but thinking that if there are cops, you'll get pulled over first because what, you're only like 1/2 car length ahead of them? lol

my favorite are the "i can drive good tooz!!1" people. the ones that try to keep up with you in the twisties in cars which have crappy tires or just plain crappy handling. i can count 2-3 times when the car that tried following me through an exit ramp at the same speed almost crashed from understeer due to overestimation on the driver's behalf. and i wasn't even going fast or that great of a driver!

It's good to brake check sometimes, if you really had to stop short they would slam right into you. It's illegal to tailgate N-E-way

Yes this is the accident I was talking about...such a tragedy...I knew a lot of girls from MO on the soccer team who knew Kyleigh and said she was a great girl. We also had a tragic accident a few years back where a girl was killed...R.I.P.

But on a brighter note...that is probably my car that you have seen...& thanks for the complement.

Haven't come across any SRT-4's yet in the month i have had the evo, although i have come across a few STI guys and they all either gave me the thumbs up or just the nice ride nod. But this morning on the way to work a freakin' focus, pulled up next to me and kept trying to get me to bite...... no thanks, then he took off like that racing movie with the focus's "slow and the ferocious." Stupid ford.....

The hit or miss with their owner is that fact that alot of them are the kids who drove the rag'd out civics with the big @ss fart cans , or just people who like the car but sometimes get stereotyped.

I modded my rear window wiper to shoot fluid straight out of it. Every tailgater gets a TON of window wiper fluid on their car. I'll hold it down until they move out of the way...it only makes sense to

Then i looked at my rear view mirror only to see him flicking me off through the windshield to further intimidate me. Being only 18 years old and having two of my best friends die in a car crash due to speeding over in Long Valley last year, I have no intention in street racing anytime soon. My dad was in the passenger seat and told me to brake check the b**** to get him off me. So I did, but since he was so close and we were in the right lane, the only way for him to avoid me was to pull over onto the shoulder and come skidding to a stop since there was a minivan on our left side Got what he deserved.

AAA instructs that you should let him pass; at the same time, I'm glad that you did not race him cause all kind of bad things could have happen. Also it's always correct to obey your Father! Good going!

Most of them are ********* only reason why is because the car is so affordable best bag for your buck that mostly kids drive the car it's the new Civic. I have a few buddies with SRT's and only a few of them would do that but now they have calm down alot GAS is TOO ****ING EXPENSIVE

You know, I'm more likely to swerve if a car is shooting fireballs at me then if they tap their brakes. Course, neither of the two will get me to back off much if I have a reason to be on your tail (you're either driving too slow, or you've been driving like an *******) drawback of way too many advanced HPDE days I guess. The only thing that does it for me is flinging rocks, I'm so used to the Evo's insta-crack windshield that I stay far far away from rock flingers.

My cousin did that on his old grand cherokee, funniest thing ever. He could spray it just right to arc into a convertible too.
