noise annoying

so when ever i accelerate i hear this noise like tick, tick, tick, tick. it comes from the left side area, i cannot replicate it with the hood open and the car in neutral. it only happens when i am in gear. anyone have the same annoying noise or know what it could be? i replaced my tranny fluid thinking that would fix it but NOPE, i have checked under the hood to see if anything is loose, and nothing. So any advice would help, i know if i take it to the dealer, i will get two things less gas in my tank and "we cannot replicate the noise".

Does this happen when you are turning or not? If its ticking when your turning then its CV joints.

how did you find out it was your manifold gasket? it only seems to happen in the cold, not in the summer. it does not go away when the engine is warm. i winder what it could be then?

well i found out it was the manifold gasket because i could hear where the ticking was coming from when i popped the hood. When i took it (its a truck not an evo) to the shop i told them where the tick was coming from. I wasnt the first person with that problem on that truck so they already knew anyway.
It ticked just like you say yours does and the higher the RPMs got the faster it ticked.

Sounds interesting, the only this is that i can't pop the hood and push on the throttle, because the noise only occurs while I am in gear and it goes away after, only under acceleration in a new gear.

what about your lifters or injectors?
how long has it been since you changed your oil?
have you installed new cams recently?

your best bet is taking it to a dealer and have them take a good look around it.

Dude, I have the same problem! I don't know what it is and like you said it only seems to happen when it's really cold out. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't seem to figure it out (surprise surprise).
