the red fluid is hydraulic fluid for the ACD there is a pump on the right side in the front of the engine bay with a resovoir on top. dont drive your car without that you wil mess up your tc and tranny bad. and if you broke that pump its a grand or two and will take months to get from japan unless you get one out of a wrecked evo i went through that i didn't have my car for three months it sucked

Well anyway the countersteer did nothing and my car went over the curb and into a hydrant. The accident occurred anywhere from 5-10mph so there really wasnt much of an impact. The hydrant got knocked over and now my car is all f****d. The damage does not look too bad however im sure its worse than it looks. For now the bumper needs to be replaced. The hood needs to be replaced. The left side undertray. My lower intercooler piping appears to be dented in. Its slowly dripping some type of red fluid. Its from the reservoir directly to the right of the radiator however im not sure where the leek is coming from. Also the metal bar going across the front of the car that the radiator ties into is bent up on the left side. There are also a few other things such that my headlight bezel has a plastic tab which snapped.

I just cant believe this has happened. This is my first accident and I just ruined my dream car which I had worked and saved for my whole life. Im just really not sure what to do. I would rather not file an insurance claim however im sure the damage is way more than $500. If anyone is selling any of those parts feel free to contact me.

My Evo is fine in the snow. I don't know why you would say the suck, unless you are driving on the stock Advans or something.

About the threadstarter...if the rad support is bent you have some serious front end damage.

Hey guys,
A couple of things. First of all thanks for all of your support. I just keep going down to my garage and looking at it. It just kills me. Someone mentioned that if my radiator support is bent I have some serious issues. For the record i was looking at it today and it is definitely bent. There are two brackets which connect the radiator to it and only one is able to connect to the radiator right now. Also the headlights also tie into it and on my driver side headlight the plastic tab broke most likely due to the shifting of that support. I cant believe all of the damage I keep stumbling upon for such a small accident. There really just wasn't a big impact. As for the ACD pump I got under the car to look for the spot of the leak. I followed the wet spots and noticed a possible break in a line right where it connects to the line which runs across the bottom of the car right under the radiator. I know that description of the line is long and its probably hard for you to understand but thats the best i can describe it...haha My next question is where do the acd pump fluids go? When i look under the tank i see 2 hoses. But those hoses are much bigger than the other hose which i think has the leak. Does that pump supply the fluid anywhere else? And for the record i dont think evos suck in the snow whatsoever. I have had a blast driving it in the snow and its very unfortunate that this had to occur.

the fluid goes to your transfer case because the acd is a differential that has diffrent settings the fluid makes it change. The evo tc works like a clutch and the pump supplies the hydraulic fluid. I bought an evo not knowing much about them it was used and the acd didn't work the guy told me it was because of suspension i come to find out he took the pump all the lines and electrical for the whole system even put an 03 tc in, all that stuff is real expensive be carefull with it

Is the line which i described the only line from the pump? I dont see why my actual pump would be broken as the pump was not hit. Assuming what I found is the only break in my ACD system could i potentially replace that line refill the reservoir and be on my way or is there any type of bleeding of something like that needed. Im just a little paranoid that the body shop is going to be driving the car thinking there is nothing wrong with it. The last thing i want to do is screw up my TC at 9000 miles.
