running TBE without rear o2 sensor

Will running a TBE with the rear o2 sensor removed cause a loss in power than with it installed? gas mileage suffer also?

+1 it will throw a CEL.
not sure if it will hurt performance though... im pretty sure that o2 sensor is only there to make sure the cat is working properly.

Just stack a few spark plug non-foulers and screw em together. Works great for me!

yes CEL is present, which I heard will make the CPU disregard the upstream o2 sensor and go to some stock basic AFR map for all applications (freeway and city driving). any truth to that?

It will effect gas mileage, it will cause some drivability problems as well. It did for me at least. I have the anti-fowlers and I was still throwing a CEL, so the sensor was obviously just going out. Not wanting to spend 250 bucks for a factory O2 sensor I had the electronic fix done via EcuFlash. It eliminates the need for the O2 sensor, but I don't think you can pass emissions with the new system software that the EMI places are using, but its easy to disable it and just hope you don't throw a CEL before you get smogged.

As far as driveability problems the car was just really jerky when cold, but got better when it warmed up. As soon as I uploaded this flash fix the problems went away and my gas mileage gained about 20-30 miles per tank.

yeah there's a great write up in the how to section. Anti-foulers FTW!

I didn't think it should affect driveability in any way. The front o2 sensor would DEFINITELY affect fuel trims though. The rear is just a check for the cat's functionality.

I know for a fact that the O2housing O2 sensor is needed, but not sure BESIDES throwing a code if the rear changes engine output in any way
