Need some advice, honest opinions

Hey, i'm in the market for a new car and I've been leaning towards an evo.. found a good deal on a IX MR I'm considering, yet with my budget I can't help but think there are better deals for me.

I'm looking to spend about 25-28 grand. I've looked at IX and VIII evos out my *** as well as some 06 STIs, but if I had to choice between them I'd wait for an evo to scream out at me. But just recently saw an audi s4 2.4 quattro for about the same price, got me looking towards other cars as well.

Whats the honest best choice for 25-28 grand looking for a fun daily drive, and some light mods.

pretty much narrowed down between

ix or viii evo
05-06 sti
02-03 M3
05-07 2.0T audi a4
or the audi s4

any opinions would be great

Audis are more luxury. They are going to be a more comfortable daily driver car. Before you buy any car though you should always test drive your options and see what works best for you. I personally love my evo, but everyone is different in their likes and dislikes of cars. Test drive them all and see which you like the most. If you are looking for power, the evo is going to shine above the rest.

If you want something to lightly mod (exhaust, filter, tune, mabye some dress-up parts), get good fuel economy, be comfortable, and quiet with good gearing, yet sporty, ect ect. I hate to say it, but get the STI. (No I do not have an STI, but a good friend does, it would make an excelent safe comfy fast DD).

(BTW: I own 4 turbo mitsubishis right now and 0 Subarus, so I am biased)

get something that suits your lifestyle. An evo is not for comfort but is raw.

evo is going to be rough. Also ask yourself - will you be able to maintain any of the above cars?

I remember my first ride in the Evo. I thought it felt very rough and "untamed" just cruising around town. I LOVED that feeling. Bought the car that week.

If you are looking for something with a smooth ride and luxury options then go with the Audi, otherwise get the evo.

I don't mean to pick, or to even flame, but I'm a bit confused on your choice of Audi as a 'finalist'. If it's the awd you want, then get the evo or sti, if it's lux/perfomance, again evo/sti/m3. Any experience I've had with Audi has been awful. They are very unreliable, but can be a great car with some mods.

That being said, i'd go with an M3 if awd isn't an issue. I've had a 95 M3 and it was one of my favorite cars to drive. The Evo is great, but the 'rawness' of it does wear on you. Good luck with the choice

I test drove a 2005 TL, 2004 S4 and a 2004 IS300 before I got into my EVO. There were likes and dislikes with all of them. It really comes down what you want. The first time I got to ride in the EVO I was hooked. I loved the feeling of it. As soon as i got behind the wheel i knew it was what i wanted. That's was the first time that has ever happened to me and i have owned a few vehicles over the years. Just lay out all the positive and negatives i am sure the EVO will prevail.

Evo9 you wont be disappointed. But at the end of the day its all what you think would be best. Drive them all and make your decision.
