Removed my front crash beam, anything over 10mph it will do more harm than good. Those four bolts will shear at anything over that speed. Worked at a body shop for awhile and saw it all. This is strictly my opinion, nothing more.
just keep it on for insurance sake. Who cares for low speed crash <10mph.
In an event where you crash at a higher speed and insurance is involved you really want to have the beam on or you can say bye bye to that check. Unless its a pure track car, which makes it a moot point because insurance don't cover crashes while tracking so it doesn't really matter if its on or off. Your money. Your life. lol.
KEEP IT ON!! Not worth it guys. my 2c.

And you don't see them in other countries because the US has the highest safety standards! Yes, the Evo was designed for the Japanese market, and then adapted for the American market. The manufacturer is required to crash the car in several government mandated scenarios and make changes if necessary. Guess what? This meant adding crash beams for safety. If they did not work, then they would not have been added! It's simple really.
I do auto collision. Crash bars serve a huge purpose. They are designed to keep the frame rails intact and inline with each other when there is an impact. If you dont have these i can garentee there will be 100% more damage done to your car. As far as insurance is. They can turn down your repair if those parts were not on the vehicle Because it would create less damage obviously. I trust myself at the wheel 100% but accidents do happen. I have the rear crash on but not the front due to my fmic. If your worried about it. Im sure you could come up with some type of custom reinforcement bar. As far as having the front and rears removed i would only suggest this on track.
Be smart, don't be a retard that regrets removing his crash beams after he finds out his insurance won't cover his car after a bad accident because he removed his crash beams. You say it won't happen to you but you'll want to kill yourself when it does and insurance can do nothing about it...drive smart.
the crash beam is part of the bumper, as a energy absorbers or brackets.
"
Bumper beam on the Mercedes-Benz SL – the bumper’s crash optimised design effectively protects the vehicle against damage during low-speed front and rear end collisions, thus resulting in lower repair costs and less time in the repair shop"

"What is a bumper?
A bumper is a shield made of steel, aluminum, rubber, or plastic that is mounted on the front and rear of a passenger car. When a low speed collision occurs, the bumper system absorbs the shock to prevent or reduce damage to the car. Some bumpers use energy absorbers or brackets and others are made with a foam cushioning material."

but it is really your car. if you do a lots of DD i would leave it on, since low speed save money.
