Upgrading to a REAL car
lots of varying degrees of accurate information on this thread regarding the VII's and IX's standard features. I hope I'm not about to contribute to that pool but here goes:
Both the ochos and the IX's do come with aluminum hoods/fenders. The IX MR's/RS's and SE's come with the aluminum roof as well. **only the IX MR's and SE's** came with HID's as a standard feature. It is also worth mentioning that the IX RS lacks HID's, power locks/windows, audio system, and ABS. The regular IX SE does not come with a vortex generator (or at least mine didn't), but it does come with the MR BBS wheels in diamond black, HID's, and red stitching on the recaros.
Regarding your question about the weight savings on the aluminum roof, not sure about that. I have read however that it lowers the center of gravity about the width of a dime. I have also read that to get the same lowering of the center of gravity on a standard steel roof you'd need to lower it approx 30 mm, which to me at least sounds significant.
My suggestion to you if you are set on a IX with the features you have requested - throw the color requirement out the window and find yourself a lightly used IX SE. You get all the other features you are interested in, and I guess you could always get it repainted if you really wanted. I guess just weigh that against the cost of putting ABS (if you care about ABS), spoiler, and HID's, power locks, and stereo (again if you care) on an RS and see which is cheaper.

You can get the HID kit for a RS and also as for the audio if you get the Urban Jungle Package you do have audio. There are people on here with wrecked evo's or parting out evos. You could buy their power window motor and stuff from them. But i think its like autolite or something like the. The have ads in import tuner mag and stuff. that sells aftermarket kits for windows. As for the vortex Generator you need to be going some outragous speeds for it to do anything. Mainly just for looks.

I want to put bronze work emotions on her. I found pics of them on white and I love it. Now I have to find some pics of them on the graphite grey. anyone have any???
not to mention, the body changes to the IX make it much better looking IMO.
-better tail-lights, front bumper, headlights, wheels etc
-Chris
i was under the impression that the IX's spool a little faster than VIII's because of the mivec (maybe 300-500 rpms sooner)? if so, wouldn't the GT35R still benefit from faster spool due to mivec? if thats the case, then the IX is still worth it.

this may be the case, but with a set of cams you're nearly as well off. Futhermore some would argue that the money saved by going to an VIII and investing that saved cash back into the car (cams, exhaust, tune, mbc etc) would likely put you into a faster setup. FWIW I went with a IX, but I can certainly understand the dilemma and the decisions people make wrt to what they are looking for/want/get.
Here's a grey one with bronze wheels. I don't think they're the wheels you're looking for, but it'll give you an idea.

Just get the VIII wicked white if u plan on a 35R and all the money u save u can buy the IX front and rear if u want it and u can find low miles one for sale. If u really are set on the IX get the MR wicked white and when the tranny goes just save up and get the 5 speed from shrep. If wicked white is what u want don't get another model this is ur car u might as well get the one that u love trust me

the GG is really growing on me the more pics I look at. im really leaning towards a GG IX SE.
I just really like bronze rims and I wanted a color on which they look good. I know they look great on white but didnt know how they would look on GG but I think it will look nice.
Now, anyone know how hard it will be to find one.
I am relocating to orange county, CA soon, so that should make things easier.
