Its time for me to sell my WRX and upgrade to a REAL car.

I'm having trouble deciding what to get. I plan on modding - HTA35R eventually.

It has to be a 9, and I wanted wicked white, aluminum roof/hood/fenders, HID's, and a 5spd.

The SE seemed perfect for what I wanted except for they dont come in white.

The MR is great except the tranny. If I go with an MR, how much could I sell my 6spd for, and how much is a used 5spd? I would like to probably eventually upgrade to a shep or bushwacker tranny sometime anyways....

How much of a weight saving is there from the aluminum roof/hood/fenders? If its not much I could possibly consider the standard 9, but I would miss the HID's too.

The RS is out, I need power windows/doors.

i thought all 9s except RS came w/ HID's.... cause my 03 evo 8 gsr had hids....

 

You plan on doing a lot of mods??? If not, you're not gonna have tranny problems with a DD

Hmm, I thought SE's came in white. I may be wrong though. The aluminum roof is nice but the average driver will not be able to tell the difference. It sheds less than 15lbs. I do know that. If you want HID's then get a standard 9 with the SSL package. THe trim is nicer in the interior but you also get a sunroof and HID's.

 

I would go with a MR, 6spd is really not that bad.

 

Sounds like you want an RS with SE options. power locks, windows, radio, and hids sold seperatly.

 

Ah go with an VIII if ur gonna mod it that much n save urself some $$

 

Any particular reason why you would not choose an VIII? MIVEC?

 

mivec, turbo, responds faster to mods, newer, less miles.

no, theyre not standard on the 9, they were on the 8. (from what i read)

 

Can someone adress the tranny swapping in the MR that I proposed with approximate pricing please.

Does the SE option on the RS include a sunroof? I hate sunroofs. If not this might be the way to go, I have never heard of it though. Will I be able to find one?
