ok. i took my car to the dealership they dont know whats wrong with it.

ok guys i need some help. i searched everywhere all i can find is that my clutch is slipping.

ok couple of weeks ago when i try to gas it a little in 4th gear, rite when the boost hits my rpm jumps a little. at first it only does it in 4th and 5th, now it does it in 2nd and 3rd too. i searched on here everybody said my clutch is slipping get a new clutch. ok i think its the clutch too but just to make sure i took my car to the dealership they told me they can't find the problem and its not the clutch. they said get a new tank of gas and see what happens. apparantly "evos dont like costco gas" thats what the manager said.

im kind of confused about this whole situation. every since i got this car i've been getting costco gas 91. cuz in new mexico we dont have 93. .....

can you guys shed some light plz im really worried about my car.
any help is appreciated. thanks.

and my car is a evo 9 stock i bought it brand new, it has 15,000 miles on it now.

It has to be the clutch. Take it to another (reputable) shop for a second opinion.

4th and 5th gear slips and now they are happening in lower gears...I say it is DEF the clutch going out!

Hope mine lasts more than 15K I just passed 13K at 330hp and all it needs is adjusted.

Your clutch is gone, get a new one. It does slip because there is almost nothing left from the disc.

just had this problem recently on my 8, and it was just the clutch. got the HDSS in now and its ****...

id do something about it soon though before you are sittin on the side of the road. i drove mine as long as possible, and it literally shished the bed right as i was pulling it into the bay to start replacing the clutch, and i had to be pushed into the stall lol...

good luck with it

Doesn't like the gas?? Are you ****ing serious? Did they actually say that? Why the hell would it rev like it's clutch slipping if it "doesn't like the gas"??? First thing's first, make note of that shop and don't ever take your car there for work. I mean not even an oil change! Considering their intelligence, they may just put the oil in your gas tank, some gas in your block and windshield washer fluid in your radiator. lol... doesn't like the gas... that's ****ing hilarious...

Idiots..Take it out in 5th gear at about 3500rpms cruising and mash it and watch the Tach. If it jumps get out your wallet.

+1 It's the clutch.
+1 Don't let that dealership touch your car.

Even if something was wrong with the fuel, RPM's will not jump randomly if the car is in gear unless something is wrong with the clutch!!!

Had this happen to me when my clutch went out. Replace the clutch disc and pressure plate. I have had the ACT Street setup for 30k miles with road racing, no problems so far!
