Does this Evo check out?
Hey guys hows it going? Just noticed an Evo went up for sale in my area and I am very interested in buying it.

Some things about the car:
-Odometer problem it looked like
-From what I can tell looks like wind vortex things have been put on it like from the MR editions.
-The top vent is red for some odd reason...
-several mods have been done
If you guys can say your opinions on it and why... then give the final buy or pass
Thanks a bunch

I have called the seller and he says the owner was 40 to 50 and wanted a toy car. You guys really think I should skip it?
One thing that is really drawing me to it is that its so close. Its hard for me to get anything really far. This is only 3 hours from me.

red vent looks horrible.
clear coat on the wing is a common issue, though.. so that's fine.
odometer sounds sketchy. sounds like someone was looking to sell the car with an odometer with lower miles on it. and the idiot who owned the car before put an HKS SSQV BOV on it... so you never know for how long this guy was driving the car for.
If he was silly enough to put the HKS SSQV on the car... who knows how well it was maintained... regarding engine oil, tc / diff / tranny fluid, coolant, etc...

Yeah, im passing it up. Thanks for the help guys and such fast response, I love this forum. Now its just a matter of finding the right one. eBay seems to come up kind of empty on the Evo side of cars. Any other ideas you guys have?
I cant take it anymore
All you have to do is go check it out man. The Evo is a damn reliable car when maintained and its super easy to spot if it wasnt.
If your new to these cars find a mechanic or someone who knows what they are looking at to go with you. If the frame is staight and you know what to look for like you would on any used car. You'll be fine.
Your buying an EVO dont you want to build it someday anyway?
It is real easy to diagnose problems and fix these cars
