It just sounds like you had an open wire to injector 4 for it to cut out like that. I'd imagine the injectors are wired in a parallel circuit so if one goes out they all don't, but I don't have a wiring schematic in front of me.
But the way you have it now, from what I'm reading it sounds like you spliced the + signal wire from injector one, to power injector 4.. if that's the case thats probably quite a bit more amperage going through that wire than what it was designed for, and may crap out as well.
If I had access to ALL DATA or Shop Key, I'd look it up for you but I won't have access till monday. But from what it sounds like, the #4 injector signal wire basically took a dump, and needs replacement.

thanks for your interest, from the positive wire that goes to inj #1 I made a Y one to inj 1 and the other to inj 4, so now both have power and work,
but I feel this fix did not set things to its original state, if you can help me with this thanks a million.

What year Evo 8 do you have? Just wondering because I looked today at the wiring diagram at school and the positive wire colors change through the years.. there's also a test you can do, I'll try to print it out tomorrow and give you some instructions on how to test that circuit.
