thanx anyway.
I have had my daughter in the car since she was born. She's almost 2 now.
When she was born we had the baby carrier that attached to a base in the car. The carrier locked into the base and rear facomg and was posistioned behind the passanger seat. The front seat did have to be moved forward a little and wasn't able to recline much.
Now she is in a forward facing 1-piece seat and there is a lot more room now for the passanger.
She has never had a problem falling asleep. Actually, she falls asleep better in the Evo then the Toyota Matrix. I think the rougher ride helps.

Just an FYI regarding this and other similar comments about turning your seat forward at 1 year. This is the minimum time you should do it. In fact, the AAP recommends "If a car safety seat accommodates children rear facing to higher weights, for optimal protection, the child should remain rear facing until reaching the maximum weight for the car safety seat, as long as the top of the head is below the top of the seat back." In many car seats this is around 30-35 lbs.

Dunno about that. We put my daughter in a forward facing seat when she weighed ~20 lbs. She was squirming out of the shoulder harness and turning around in her seat to look forward. So I'd rather have her properly belted into a forward facing seat vs that...
I have three girls - 10, 8, and 4. All three fit in the back no problem. Since 2004 (I had a 2005 MR), we've been through lots of different rear seat configurations: (1) a rear facing baby seat, a regular car seat, and the oldest in the middle; (2) a regular car seat, a 1/2 booster seat, oldest in the middle); and finally (3) 1/2 booster seat, with middle and oldest in no car seat. My oldest is a very good sport, while she fit in the middle with (1) and (2) - it is a little tight. She is much happier with (3).
The problem that I now have is that the 8 year old begs me to go fast, but the 4 year old acts as a rev limiter - as soon as we hit 3,000 - she starts screaming and crying that I'm going to fast. I figured out a "work-around" - a loud radio prevents her from hearing the revs - now everyone is happy (as long as I remember to put the blindfold and gag on my wife).
