My clutch started slipping at 6,000 and it was totally fried by 9,000... I put a ACT 6 puck extreme plate(no springs) and it has lasted me 14,000 so far and is still running strong...

They won't cover a clutch past 12k miles, and even that can be a fight.

I've got 61K on mine, 320WHP...just removed the restrictor and did an SS clutch line last weekend to improve the disengagment.

I drive more reasonably now than when I first bought the car...but it's seen some launches and plenty of spirited driving.

I got 55K on my stocker and it still feels just as strong as when I first bought it brand new.

Check out Gruppe-S. They have a Creametallic Clutch and lightned flywheel package for about 500 or so. Its rated to 450hp

I'm at about 29k with my stock clutch. The clutch is still going strong but I just hate the sloppiness of the stock clutch. I like the crisp feeling of an aftermarket clutch. My stock clutch has chattered on a cold start in first gear since day one along with having odd engagement points. I haven't removed the restrictor pill pull does that help with giving some of the feeling back in the clutch?

Geez, I have 50K miles on my stock clutch. I kind of feel like I should replace mine just to fit in.

A clutch is a wearable item and won't be covered under warranty. I don't see how you can expect them to cover it... If your getting that kind of mileage out of a clutch I think you need to change your driving style. I have 57K on my stock original clutch with plenty of hard driving.

Agreed. I'd like 50k+ miles from this one. Do you have your restrictor pill removed? I want to start asking around if the higher mileage stock clutch guys removed them or not. I should probably do that and a SS clutch line.

$1500 sounds a little much. I got quoted $1300 for the ACT HDSS kit installed w/replacing fluids.

welcome to the Evo world...clutches suck, but they are worth the pain, and they do go. its the first thing that all the power is transferred through. good lucvk with your decision on a clutch and good luck with the install...
