I have 71k miles on my stock clutch, and it still grabs hard. BTW...I've got an 03 Evo.
A co-worker of mine was able to get 84k miles from his stocker before he finally replaced it, and he has an 03 also.
Stock clutch 4-life!!!

alot of it has to do with how much bumper to bumper, stop and go traffic your in during the day too. i used to drive the evo in 3 hours of stop and go traffic, 5 days a week and got it to last to around 48,000. not too shabby in my opinion.
thank goodness the evo sits at home under a car cover while my beater corolla gets all the punishment now

Psh, I blew mine at like 10k from practicing launching too many times. The upside to doing it so early is that the clutch was still under warranty so I got it fixed for free. Soo.. if you're going to fry your clutch, do it early.
I did mine at 50k on my 03. It still had a little life in it. Put an ACT HDSS in. Now that recently started to give me some high RPM lockout (YES I adjusted the damn thing every which way you can imagine) The clutch is great and holds up super but It doesnt like disengaging at 7.5k - 8k.
Side note: The ACT high rpm thing did just start. It did not always do this. The ACT has been in about 50k as well just as a reference.
Im going with a Exedy Twin when I build the motor

I paid $650 labor for my clutch install....and $580 for the ACT HDSS and $50 to resurface my stock flywheel.....add tax on top of that and its not cheap.....you probably can get it for under a $1000 but you I always believe you get what you pay for ..... just spend the extra $$ and get yourself a good clutch. It will still be cheaper then taking it to the dealer and having a stocker put back in.
EDIT: I had my stock clutch in for 71K original miles....

+1 with that! and not just any exedy, get the twin disc. screw warrantee's and all that junk. to me evo's were meant to be driven hard. if anything dude. don't worry about the money now, cause in actuallity the twin disc will save u a lot more money then getting an ACT or the stocker.
my clutch went out at 15k. after about 50-60 launches. of course i didn't slip it at all. i just 2-step and dump the clutch. clutch lasts longer when u don't burn it.
i'm now running on a twin disc and i love it! never have to really worry about it slipping until i hit the 600hp range.
