What other cars are comparable to the Evo IX's overall performance?
Build up a car. Most car's that have a huge after market out there can compete. It just matters what you put into it. I mean people rag on Honda's all of the time but they have some really nice vehicles (NSX,S2000,ITR,Civic's) with ton's of potential.
Nissan (240sx,350Z) Hell, If I Could trade my Evo for an NSX I'd do it in a heartbeat.
That car is a pure driver's car. Also a close second would be an E36 M3 those are my favorite cars since I was young and you should see how well they do at auto X events.

For me my next car will be a IX right now i am happy with my VIII. But for u i would go with
1 M3
2 elise the new one is turbo
3 cobra year 03-04 supercharged
4 keep the evo and get a bike that would give u great speed and handling
5 The Gt 500
I think that is about it. But if u are really board get a bike and keep the evo

I would have to agree there. My last car an Orange 04 Cobra, was an absolute BEAST. I bought it used for 27,900 with a Bassani Catback. I threw on a 2.76 pulley (80 bucks), a new belt, and a tune, and I was at 478whp. I sent out the blower to be ported ($400) and a 3lb lower ($250) and a new tune and I was at 535hp/540tq. I ran 128mph in the 1/4 with 315mm drag radials. It was also very competitive on the autox as well. Having IRS and Bilsteins, I added springs and swaybars and I was right up there with the local EVOs at the autox. It's a completely different car, and I'd have to say I definitely like my EVO more, just in terms of safety, room, build quality, AWD, brembo's etc. The Cobra isn't as versatile, but can do pretty decent in the corners, and absolutely ridiculous in a straight line. Just my .02
i was gonna say buy a rotary aka rx7fd or a rx8... then i got a feeling you were straight so that idea left my mind...
evo x
lotus!!!
...just buy another evo for gods sake

I would say my TT Supra is the best bang for the buck
-Appreciates, meaning it goes up in value every year
- Stock block can hold 1000whp
- Stock 6spd can hold over 1500whp
- For less than $1k you can have 450whp and run a 10second 1/4 (BPU MODS)
- Pull .98g's stock! (some people don't realize how well these big cars handle)
- Held the record for shortest stopping distance for over 10 years! (was beaten recently by the Porsche GT $500k car)
The downside is that a clean 6spd TT Supra will cost you $30k. But it will hold its resale value

. As far as straightaways go...........well, that's a whole different story (THEY'RE ANIMALS!!).EDIT: Oh and as far as the Supra goes, I would tade my Evo up in a HEARTBEAT if I can find a clean 95-98 TT 6-Speed Targa (gives me a boner thinking about it)!

I had a AMS reflash and a catback exhaust, my setup might be a tad bit faster than a stock IX but it's close.
