Yes that is absolutely correct. C5Z will make unbelievable turns, but it would be so much easier to do so in an evo. Remember, C5Z weighs less, have more tires, have lower center of gravity etc etc. The guy who worked on the car new what corvette is and what performance is (some Russian dude). No wonder they won the LeMans with a modified version of it.

most cars that you guys mentioned are way more expensive than the evo... M3's are at least 10g more than an Evo, even though they are comparable with the Evo's performance if not better.

the few cars that come to my mind:

SRT4
STi
Elise

i''ve been driving an evo since late 03 and i want to know how someone comes to a point where its time to move to a different ride??? from an evo??? must have been stock? some people think they don't get respect from vettes, bmws audis and such thats usally why someone would want to get rid of their evo? i have a couple of friends that wish they keep theirs every time i smoke their silly axxs but you want a cool car if you hav'nt already bought something? look at the 135i bmw very fast for the money, i don't know if they make an x model(AWD) .. why did you feel you needed to move on from an evo i'm confused? what ever you get odds are you will get beat by an evo! maybe even the one you got rid of

A RWD car doesn't necessarily have to have a LSD to be a good car. The Lexus IS-F doesn't come with an LSD and hauls *** around a track.

I cannot figure out what car will be able to replace it to its standards though. I have a simple question that I cannot find the answer to:

Are there any cars out there in general that can compete with a modded (or stock I guess ) IX in acceleration and handling (especially acceleration)?

Obviously there are cars that can, but I am talking within its price range. Thousands more is still acceptable, but Im not talking about tens and tens of thousands more. I just can't figure out anything that is comparable that I like.

Thanks!

PS - I was thinking about a WRX/STi but it isnt as much as a beast of a car. I was also thinking about an Elise but the thing just doesnt have any ***** in a straight line. Nothing has convinced me yet. Need more ideas...
dont know why you instead of modify your evo IX to make a really beast
out of it and maybe spend less $$$ in the process

For close to the same price C5Z with a couple mods will trap 125+ throw some good tires and a few upgraded suspension and they are monsters at the road course. Anybody that races knows bang for the buck an evo is very hard to get to Z06 levels when they are modded.

Personally with the pricing I would opt for a C6 Z51 corvette. Pulls .99g stock, run lows 12's and is 3100lbs and brakes very well. Throw about 3 mods on that car and better dampners and tires and you have a car for about $35k that will pull over 1.0g, have 420+whp, get 27-28mpg on the highway, and absolutely haul *** on the road course...seen it many times. I myself when it comes time to sell the evo its easier an M3 or C6 Z51 imo.

Toyota Varis and/or Prius. Yeah I know, they're fast around the corners.

Wow it looks like a dead horse just got the **** kicked out of it

People there are plenty of other cars out there (for less money) that absolutely destroy the the performance of the (stock) Evo 9. Get over it already.
