LOL. He said half the insurance. Although it is a step up from asking your dad about getting a car, it's still alittle funny to me. Please don't take offence. If you do, please accept my I'm sorries.

I'm going to pray that your father has some good sense and doesn't buy it for you.

Stick with the Caldina. One of the better Toyota motors, 3SGTE FTW.

I agree with everyone else by doing whatever you please, but if you gotta ask your parents about buying a car... You probably cant afford it all yourself. I can easily afford car payments and all the other crap but maintenance is a *****. Keep your car, wait til you have enough money to get an Evo, then sell your Caldina.

Now I'm really confused. You say that you already have the money to buy the Evo, but you have to ask your father's permission to buy it. Maybe this is a Jamaican cultural thing, but if I was 21 years old and already had the money to purchase the car then why the hell would I need my father's permission?

Don't mind all the worrying haters. Tell your dad that it has all wheel drive, So it keeps traction better than a rear wheel drive car, or front wheel drive car. It will sound good to him. Hope you get it.

Cultures outside of America have different rules when concerning respect for parents. Some places you have to respect your Father's opinion over yours, no matter how old you are.

buy it yourself. if you cant afford it now, wait till you can. makes you appreciate it more, and you respect it more also.
