I had a key made for my Evo at Ace Hardware. Using that key it would start, run, and then shut off like yours is doing. It could be that the immobilizer is shutting it off due to a bad radio transmitter in the key. So, if you have two keys, try the other one.

The car no longer has immobilizer functions. It has a HKS stand alone.

I agree, your probably going to have to get the car looked at by someone who can make sure the HKS is not the problem. Original owner / tuner if possible.

Know what, check your cam sensor on the head make sure that bolt didnt back out. Just have a feeling, could be totally wrong. Do you get an rpm signal on the tach while cranking the car.

As stated prior, did you do a compression test. You stated white smoke, thats usually coolant or water. Sounds like a headgasket to me.

This sounds stupid but I had the same problem starting the car. It would start stutter and stop. I called Carmella at JAM and she told me to change the battery. The injectors need alot of electricity to close and they start off open. If you don't have enough juice the injectors open will flood the engine. I changed the battery and it worked.

Doubt it's the battery. My car ran fine, the next time I went to start it it just cranked. I can get it to start after flooring/playing with the gas and after that it just cuts out after like 15secs. I've tried changing the CAS, coil packs, plugs, jumping the car. Andrews car is still at ICS and I'm working on getting it back down to Ivey's. Both of us are pretty close to the same symptoms and both are not running.

You've already spent a small fortune on trying to find out what's wrong with your car. Why not try a new deep cycle battery. I was leary at the time but tried it anyway. After all youy probubly will need one soon. After sitting all winter the battery was dead and won't hold a full charge. Sometimes it would start and would run and then stall and after awhile it wouldn't start at all.
