Hey, so i just got my 8 and i was moving it in my driveway.. car started up and ran fine.. i started to go down my driveway and all of a sudden the car like bogged, stuttered and shut off... I tried to start it again, it'll turn over but will backfire and run rough for a second then turn off again.. I checked the plugs.. they are black but not terrible... im getting spark to them, checked the HKS Twin fire and the red light is on and thats working, checked the meth kit and is not stuck on.. i need help asap. thanks for any input..

 

Is the MAF sensor plugged in? I unplugged mine when I was replacing the vacuum lines to the boost solenoid and I forgot to plug it back in. I stuttered when it started up, and set the CEL off.

 

car uses the hks fcon vpro also

 

i checked the fuel pressure and the line going to the fuel rail has pressure and fuel.. just threw new plugs in... tried disconecting the hks twin fire and still nothing..it wants to start, but just wont turn over.. help please

 

I would say one of the hks products is the problem - my guess is the vcon pro or whatever it is....why run a piggyback when the stock ecu is a good standalone unit?

 

my car would do this if i had the defrost on... odd enough i atributed it to the lack of an idle stepper.. If thats the technical term. LAck of increased rpm when heat or ac is on stressed the engine out? Can you give it gas to keep it from dying?

 

wont take gas... it'll sputter for a lil then shut off...

no codes.. i literally went down my driveway, pulled a u turn, came out.. it bogged, sputterd and shut off.. and wouldnt start again.. car was running perfect..

can you unhook the piggyback and just run off the stock ecu?

 

ill try that... its weird.. im thinking maybe no injector pulse....

 

got fuel on plugs, plugs spark...the rail is pressurized.. im confused...
