Best shift point?

Hey guys the other day i was taking to a fellow evo owner and he was giving me some advice saying i should shift at 7100 instead of 7500 with the mods i have. I was a little confused because since my tune allows me to shift at 7500 i would think it was better. What do you guys think would be a optimal shift point for stock turbo evo? Thanks

Shift earlier, power will start dropping off up there. Thus making it pointless to shift at 7500.

If you have a dyno sheet look at the point where power starts to drop off. I would say shift there or slightly B4

There's no reason to shift that much past redline if your car is stock or pretty close to it. The only reason I'd think of is to hold gears longer, but in most situations, it still won't save you any shifts.

Yeah, the higher up too your boost tapers more so you definately will start losing that extra power. I shift right when I see it gets to 7K.

IMO try to shift early on 1st say 6700, it will give you a nice pull on 2nd, after that shift 7s.

I wouldn't shift any higher than 7K. Not much point on stock, but I would see where you make peak power if you have you're dyno sheet and shift somewhere right around there.

This is all terrible advice. A well running stock turbo will make max power right at 6900 give or take 100rpm. Its impossible to tell without seeing the sheet but in general shift first gear at like 7600-7800 and the rest at like 7400-7500.

You should wind out first gear longer than the others and if you shift at 7k or lower, you're going slower. Period.

Ye it's very difficult to give advice on where to shift because a graph is the only way to show where the power drops off. With your tune, it might be best to shift as 6500 or even 7500rpms. It could be anywhere in between. The graph will help show the best shift points versus generic advice on where people USUALLY shift.
