I never thought of the fuel pump. Probably cause I'm also losing dash, guages, clock and radio. Didnt think "fuel" when I lose "electrical" items. I have an appt. @ york mitsu for weds. I hope they can shed some light on the issue. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome, if there is any.. Keep posting ideas on the issue, pleeaassee! I know it can be fixed. Its got to. I WILL NOT give up on my EVO

well that would have to be a grounded out wire for that to totally shut off all the lights in the car because even when you run the car out of fuel it just shuts off doesnt lose all of the power at all. I dono it very well could be somethig like that because of the way power is delivered to the fuel pump but you very well may have to bite the bullet and hit up the dealer. I am still on the ECU speculation.

 

did you program a new key?
are you using a new programed key?
if yes its the key, or you need to program the key correctly.

 

I used the 2nd key that I got with the car when I got it. It ran fine 4 2 weeks- so I thiught I had it. Thought it was a theft deterrant immobilizer issue in the key. This whole thing is pissin me off. You can only imagine. I've got $40,000 rollin on 4 wheels, and I dont even trust 2 drive the damn thing. I love my EVO. It will be fixed. I will keep posting, when I find out the kink. I don't wish this kond of uncertianty on my worst enemy! Droppin it off @ the "stealers" wedesday night. Theyll look @ it Thursday. Worst case scenario would be "I'm sorry sir. We couldnt find the problem, - thatll be $300.00. Have a nice day" - I need EVO time, like Yesterday

 

The dealer now has my precious EVO, hope they find something.. I hope. Otherwise, I don't know what..

What would be the symptoms of a "bad ecu?" - what Iv'e been expiericing? And what would be the reason why the "ALMIGHTY DEALER" wouldn't be able to pick this up?? I'm so royally frustrated. Now my Evo is going to be vulnerable @ the stealers 'till I can pick it up saturday night.. I'm too far "into" the EVO project. I HAVE to fix it. I'm talkin 2 everyone I know that would know anything about anything, Iv'e searched all over the net. Lord Jesus, son of God, please hep my ailing evo..

 

lol well symptons would be what its doing,,,,,i'm not saying i've ever heard of it happening, but its all electrical so who knows whats going on with it!!

Ahh you are too far away for me 4 hours from OC, NY lol What about CBRD Speed Factory how far away are you from York, PA maybe they can help you out with something im still thinking it is ecu related either the Engine ECU or the Immobilizer ECU.

 

Never heard of them. I'm 30 min. from york, though. Thanx for the tip. I have scheduled foe a buddy and I to dismantle my precious peice of machinerey*(sp) this weekend. Pull an all nighter- I see it coming..But, yeah, Ill call. See what they say. Thanks, man.
