Car shuts off while driving
"Immobilizer ECU?" wheres this located?
see if the plugs to the ecu are plugged tight(unplug them and then plug them back in, maybe they are loose.Did you replace the main fuse just to eliminate it.
So you are hard wired to the ecu with the access port, maybe it is not soldered correctly and under vibration it looses connection to the ecu.I would have this checked.

Hey I had the same problem with my old evo. found out it was the o2 sensor behind my test pipe the car would always shut off while going into a turn. Here the idiot that put my car back together put in the wrong exhaust dount in and the sensor would hit the floor board and shut everything off. Car would not start for hours.

Maybe the TT?......How long you have your TT installed on your car? Got the right harness for it? Did u try removing it and see if the problem goes away? Not sure about the tt but maybe it's worth checking!....good luck bro! hopefully u get the problem resolved somehow.............
Same thing happen to me , , , it ended up being my fuel pump. Walbro . Not saying all Walbro fuel pump is bad i just got a lemon. After installing my stock pump back it i never had that problem again .
Tried the turning off the TT. Not it. Tried uninstalling the cobb. Not it. It's not a fuel pump, cause I lose dash lights and clock. It's not the battery or alternator, cause it fixes itself when it wants to. It"ll cut out from 20 min of driving. It"ll cut out after 2 weeks of driving. It"ll cut out at idle, driving 70mph, or sitting still with engine off. No consistancy whatsoever. Won't throw a code. And as far as the rear o2 sensor, I have an o2 sensor simulator for emissions purposes. Didnt THINK that would be it. Aything spliced into ECU stays on (tach, shift light, boost controller) I keep thinking something in the ignition, only because I lose everything that is hooked to it. Or just a bad computer, that turns on and off by itself whenever it wants to. Ive never heard of such a thing. I'll have you know, I did get some EVO time in this evening.. had to. Didnt cut out, thank god. Just took it around the block a couple of times
I hope someone can find it. Cause I sure as hell cant. I tried. So did my mechanic, and so did Mitsubishi. It's in God's hands now.. my poor baby is banished to the garage. I'll let it rot 'fore I get rid of it
Thanx for any more help, and apretiate all the help so far. You guys are my only hope. Good luck to everyone with an ailing evo!

Ive had a breakthrough! Cut out again, For some reason, though its not blown, I simply removed the 40amp ignition fuse in the panel under the hood. put it back in, and it started right up. Happened later that day (yesterday) removed the fuse, reinstalled it, same result. So, in conclusion, its something to do with that. The 40amp fuse is not blown, though removing it and putting it back in is resetting something. Before discovering this, I had ordered a new ignition switch (electrical side, not the locking cylinder) and it will arrive on wed. There it is so far. Something to work with, anyway. I'll keep posting with any further progress. Thx again everyone.
There are several circuit breakers in the fusebox under the hood.. Sounds like something may be tripping one of them so you might be resetting it.
Take a look at the wiring for your O2 sensors, if its chafed/damaged it could be grounding.
A few other things to look at (this may or may not be coincidental) is the coils, its wiring harness, and wiring to MAF sensor, Turns out my car cut out a few days ago and left me stranded on the side of the road.. I swapped a few parts, not finding the problem until I started reseating the connectors for all of those harnesses.. I'm thinking humidity and corrosion may be the culprit in my case.

Oh and I want to reiterate something since I saw it in a few earlier posts and other threads recently..
***NEVER EVER EVER EVER*** Tap power off the ECU, if you somehow manage to leech enough current for your accessories, the ECU will either not boot or run improperly. This doesn't sound like the source of your problem, but it could lead to problems reflashing your ECU or other issues in the future.
