Is 450 - 500 awhp realistic?
i think both cars can have that power with the right parts and a lot of money. however, i will tell you what i tell alll my costumers. mod it slowly according to what you feel that needs improvments. it is very easy to go to a website and throw figures up in the air. in reality this HP might not be what you want. some people like power while some people loke handling. for example, the EVO hp is enough for me for now but i do feel that the car can handle better and that is why i am modding the suspension right now. just buy one part at a time until you feel that you have reached the point that you are happy. don't forget that figures like that have their cons also. Lag, rough idle, gas mileage, emmisions, speeding tickets etc... should all be taken under consideration.
good luck.
good luck.

I am pretty sure a 2003 mustang Cobra with drag radials, pully, chip and exhaust (total investment of about $1500) would beat the best Evo VIII in north america in the QTR mile..... and absolutely destroy it in a rolling race......
I think AL ran a 11.6 @ 121 in the qtr with all of his zillions of modifications..(did that include NOS?).. that is about what $1500 of mods gets you in a cobra....but at a higher trap speed...

I will kill your cobra with my STOCK evo on any road course, again I think people who got this car for 1/4 mile did if for the wrong reason. Kinda like people who drag race the NSX, buy a V8 something and have fun. But then again there are old TSI AWD doing 9's. Give it some time I say in less then a year the evo will be deep in the 10's and in 2 years it will be in the 9's. The mustang is fast I drove one before the evo but then again it stops and turns like crap. Power is easy to do. Stopping and turning costs more money in the long run
