I just totaled my 94 Talon w/big 16G, so I'm looking to "graduate" (as Gaudi put it) to an Evo.

The main one I am eyeing now is:

2003 BBY w/45k
Do-luck CF lip
O2 Housing - (Megan? ebay? guy didnt know)
3" Turboback - (same as the O2)
Injen intake & IC plumbing - (lame in my book)
HKS 272 cams
Cam gears - (unknown brand)
255lph fuel pump - (Walbro I assume)
ARP studs
Exedy twin disc clutch
"Custom tune" - (whatever the fsck that means)
SS braided clutch line
Swift lowering springs - (no idea on the quality of these)
Drilled and slotted rotors, axis pads

He wants $21.9k for it... I'm thinking $18-18.5k is more reasonable, especially since he has no receipts, doesn't know who tuned it, has no dynosheets, and all the mods were done by the previous owner.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

EDIT: I made my own thread with pics of the car: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=353976 please reply there

Carmax is a joke... they only offered me 22.5k for a GG EVO IX SE with around 7k miles on it and is essentially stock except for solid underhood shifter bushings... They wouldnt budge on the appraisal... Lame! It's still for sale as i am not going to be jerked around by dealerships lowballing me on appraisal... The car is worth at least 27k! Someone buy it from me please!

actually he paid for the car in cash, the kit was installed before he sold the car so it has less than 200 miles on it, peak boost 35r kit, pretty insane deal for an evo 9 imho

so he installed a 35r kit, drove it 200 miles and decided to sell.
either the car was f-ed up or he was desperate to sell. (money Issues?)
no one in their right mind will do that.

Its how it should be from the factory. Don't know which short bus mistu dood on the dock decided to put it in the lower opening with the boost gauge on the passenger side.

Are those evo's even still for sale at south coast? They don't update sold cars that much.

He was very desperate to sell, the car had a stock evo 9 turbo in it, and he had a brand new peakboost 35r kit that he had bought but never installed, so he said if you by the car for 22 I will install it so pretty much its a brand new kit, these type deals are out there just have to look, I just picked an 8 for 14 with 70k miles

We're going to see a lot more high school kids with Evo's now that they're available for ~$15k. Kind of sucks.
