who has the UK IX chrome badge in stock
Mixmaster, have you ordered this and if so how is the craftsmanship?
I actually just ordered off the site mixmastermatt provided. I'd rather risk wasting $30 shipped as opposed to $90 shipped (Lancershop's price). I'll let you guys know the quality once I get it.
I just sent them an e-mail to see if they have any in stock and to confirm they are made of hardened aluminum and not vinyl. I know that's what their website says but I like to trust but verify.
I've had my badge on for about 4/5 days now and there's no sign of wear or peeling or anything. I'm very big on quality, and so far the the badge from lancershop hasn't disappointed me. Not to mention, I've been through a carwash and I used the soap brush all over the badge...and the badge is still like new. No problems so far and I hope it stays that way. It looks awesome!
so is the emblem from lancershop hard plastic like the OEM badges? the folks here don't seem to think so

anybody found any other sources for the GENUINE emblem?

The one from lancer shop isn't "hard" plastic like the oem badges on the lower left of the trunk. I don't know about being "flimsy" though. I bought mine from lancershop over a year ago and have had no problems with it. It still looks like it did the day I put it on.
I have the Evolution IX UK badge and it's not hard plastic like the original small badge from mitsu. But keep in mind that even though it's not hard plastic, it still doesn't look soft or cheap. It stays on secured and I have no regrets. It's a little soft but not too soft, and it's not very flimsy at all. It stays on and it looks very professional. The toughest aspect about it is that you have to level and measure exactly where to want to place it. It's was a big challenge for me since I wanted it to be placed as perfectly as possible. I spent $81.95+shipping and it's worth every penny for the way it looks, the way it stays on, and for the great quality of it. Lancershop.com may still have it in stock...I'm not 100% sure if they still do or not. Good luck everyone!
Here is what you need to know about badges.
1) If you buy a $80 JDM UK Badge from Lancershop for an VIII/IX it's not going to be as thick as the USDM Lancer and Evolution badges. If you don't think it will match, don't buy it or remove the USDM badges (I recommend the latter).
2) The UK VIII/IX Badge that is sold at lancershop for $80 is Authentic JDM. Regardless if your opinion is that it's crap quality it's still Authentic. Lancershop is selling you a product that was Manufactured by Mitsubishi. If you have a complaint with quality, complain to Mitsubishi. Lancershop did their job by providing you with an Authentic JDM Badge. People seem to complain that Lancershop steered them the wrong way. hahaha. Bottom line, they tell you that you are getting a Authentic JDM badge and that's exactly what you get. (I should write an EVO JDM UK BADGE IDENTIFICATION MANUAL FOR DUMMIES).
3) Get it out of your head that they make a THICK HARD PLASTIC UK VIII/IX Badge similar to the USDM Lancer/Evo Badge. That simply doesn't exist. The UK VII badge is much thicker if that's what you are looking for. That's your only option if you want a THICK HARD PLASTIC BADGE that is still Authentic. Only problem is that you won't have VIII or IX lettering that thick.
4) It seems that most of the confusion is coming from people who never had a badge in their possession in the first place. Why comment if you don't know what you are talking about? You're only causing more confusion.
