I think this is correct it says "rpm".

Has anyone done this before.

That would be the orange plug , green wire with white stripe right?

LOL just wanted to see if anyone had done it successfully before. I don't want to break anything. I will get some scotchlok's to tap the wire in.

I still don't understand why I get the funny readings at 3000+ RPM when I wire it directly to the coil.

so close to the coils might be giving you interference.
i have mine tapped at ECU for TPS and RPM and it reads spot on .

good luck man, let us know if that solves it.

TPS?

Throttle Position Sensor? (that wont work!)

I was going to use pin 45, the green and white one.

he probably tapped the tps for some other reason than what you need. he said he tapped rpm there too.

Bingo, worked good - 45 it was (green white little guy)

Seems to be ok now, I'll let you know after I drive around tomorrow.

yea, i meant i tapped at ECU for TPS and for RPM.....different wires
but yea, u were getting interference.

sometimes EGT probes read funny because when people run the wires back they route them too close to the coils same principal here.
