what the heck ...........update

took my car to mitsubishi dealer to have my cam sensor replaced and they melted my engine wiring harness. and ofcourse they won't take responsibility for it because my car is moded . so they want $800 for the harness & $500 for labor + tax.

Man why would you take it to mitsu in the first place.
The most you can do is get a lawyer now or threaten to and hope they cave.

Do you know exactly what caused it to melt? Find that out and you will find the person that has to pay for it.

i know it wasn't melted when i took it there. They inspected the car, diagnosed the problem and never mentioned any wiring problems. After they replaced the sensor they say the car started smoking and that's when they noticed the melted wires. The mechanic said he wasn't sure if the key was turned on and the battery wasn't disconnected.

Where exactly did the wires start melting. To me you got a heck of a case.

You took it there and paid them to install the sensor (even though I dont trust mitsu techs at all and that sensor isnt hard to change) but they said after that your wires started smoking. Where? It seems to me something they shorted something.

Theaten with a lawyer

Dude that is crap. How can they say that you need to pay for something that they clearly destroyed? Its not like your car was smoking when you brought it in so how do they explain the wires melting after you brought it in.
