Car wont start, ran perfect before being parked for 2 weeks.
Just got back from vacation, car sat 2 weeks and the battery was dead, just like i expected it to be...
so i call AAA, they come out and jump it and it sounds like its about to fire up but wont. it just keeps cranking over.
car has gas in it, no CEL, and ran flawless before i parked it for the last 14 days.
where would be a good place to start troubleshooting before i have it towed 70 miles to south coast mitsu?

Start with the basics. Fuel, fire and air. See if it's getting fuel at the fuel rail, check to make sure the plugs are firing and make sure you don't have anything blocking the air intake. I.E any animals that might have crawled up in there and caused a blockage. Remember start with the basics. You need to make sure your battery is in good shape and not just cranking the car. If the ecm isn't getting the proper voltage and amperage it will not operate correctly. Have the battery checked at your local autozone, pep boys, etc. Good Luck

This is what happened to mine, put in nerw plugs and bam fired right up. Sat for 30 days and then wouldn't start. Eventhough when I grounded out the plugs I seen a spark, it was too faint. So the problem took a little while to troubleshoot and I just said it had to be the plugs and it was. Just give it a try
plugs, crack fuel line to check pressure, check ALL fuses, if all that passes you can usually smell a fried ecu, check Cam angle sensor. sumtitmes the internal parts get loose and back out and crank pos. sensor. my car wouldnt start cuz the timing jumped somehow..

I don't get it, I mean the car sat only for 2 weeks, not months or years. Why would it give trouble starting for not being fired up for 2 weeks? I see some of you have had the same trouble and it's puzzling. Would this happen to any car? It never happened to me before and I have had cars sitting for over a month and longer when I go to Europe and they fire right up...little hesitant but no major problems. Just curious, is this an Evo thing?
It is probably a wiring problem. I had a similar situation and for whatever reason the dealership did tow it since it would not start and found some croded (sp?) wire cleaned it and fired right up. Just a suggestion.....
