Shave/Trim Fenders Instead Of Rolling?

I have 18x9.5 +22's on the way and I am looking into this option and want to see if anyone has tried it. Anyway, what would you use and does anyone have any pics? Any advice is appreciated

BTW a search revealed nothing, yet I have heard some talk about it in the past.

I cut mine. Rears didn't come out that great but if you take your time I'm sure it could look alright. Finished it off with some black door stripping.

A dremel will go through the front fenders b/c they are aluminum but you need an angle grinder for the rear to go through the two pieces of steel sheet metal. If I could do it again I think I would cut an inch off the back to separate the metal and then roll about a 3 inch section, and then cut an inch off the front. I tried to roll the aluminum but no dice, it just flexes.

I think I shoul be good in the front and if need be i'll trim the fender liner.

Now the rears are going to be a problem, I can tell without even bolting them up. I really want them to look good though.

The shop that ordered the wheels for me cut/ground the rear fenders when they put them on so they would fit. They don't poke out any more than stock so it is almost impossible to tell that anything is done, yet there is no rubbing. It worked out very well for me in the end.

Pics or details on how they did it?

Just tape around the fender area to protect your paint, put a cutting wheel on an angle grinder and cut the flange off from inside the rear fender.

I did mine, you can't tell anything has been done unless you know what to look for.

cut em,
I rolled em and the paint cracked.
Just cut them like he mentioned above. I have 265s on 18X9.5s 27et and they barely clear the fender, I will probably try pulling them slightly.
with 265s its going to be close.

I have 255/35 and a +22, I might be ok with just cutting.

yeah i am interested in running 265 series tires. So it can be done withuot the wide body kit right? And pretty much any reputable shop should be able to modify your fenders in order to fit this size tire and wheel? I am probably gonna go with a 17 inch re30 that is 9.5 inches wide with some 265's on it.

I am in the same boat. One set of work wheels Im looking at ordering is 18x10 +20. If I go that route Im going to stretch a 255 to help clear the fenders. Im also going to use as much camber as I can. I have a good friend who is big into VW's and they have the same style double rolled rears, and he was able to cut it with an air powered reciprocating saw. The results are really impressive. He finished it off with a grinder to smooth it out and you can't even tell. It worries me hacking into a new car, but I do love aggressive wheels.

Your friend sounds like he knows what hes doing, I would suggest a larger 255 size tire, like a 615 maybe.. just as some insurance for your rim, plus stretched tires are played out in the show scene, I think it just looks weak.
