too good to be true?

ok so i was looking around on craigslist and there was this guy who had an 05 evo VIII for 8k with a clear title and only 20k miles, have any of you guys ever heard of this good of a deal? because to me it seems too good to be true although he has the vin number and stuff

hmm alright i was hoping it would be alright, anyways idk if its against some kind of rules or w/e but can someone carfax this VIN number for me?

He probably for got to put a 1 in front of the 8 to make it 18k ?? Call him up take it for a test drive and if it drives good and you don't see anything wrong with it BUY IT!!

That's weird that it was sold at an auction. When auction comes to mind, I usually think of repo or accident. But if the car was totaled it should have showed up on the report.

They say dealers buy millions of cars at auction...not private parties. Take it for a test drive!

Just check it out, see there are any strings attached. I know someone who bought an '05 evo with 20,000 miles mint for $7,000 from a repo company.

+1 on typo. Even $18K is a good price honestly.

But if he really is selling it for $8K with f-ed up insides, you can buy it as a rolling chassis, replace motor, transmission, transfercase, etc. and still have money left over.

I was going to say it is a theft recovery at that price, but after seeing the carfax I'm not so sure.

my guess is its most likely a stock lancer bc when i was looking for an evo recently i ran into the same thing and i got a vin number which said it was for an evo but i went to look at the car and found it it was a stock lancer! in dont know what the deal was but it sucked pretty bad...all you can do is check it out man good luck
