Yeah sounds like a scam. Maybe he is hoping you (anyone responding to the ad) don't know what an Evo is hoping to unload a base Lancer on you. If so, pay him with Monopoly money.

I bet it's the typical CL scam:

"I just moved out of the country but I am selling the car. Just send me a money order for $8,000 and I will deliver the car to you."

As stated, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is...

It's easy enough to run a carfax on any vehicle's VIN and construct a for sale ad for a car that's not actually for sale...

and hmm yeah i couldnt really test drive it because when i emailed the guy he said he was somewhere in the midwest and im in socal so a test drive wouldnt really be possible :/

 

Its a scam. I came across a similar scam, when I was looking forward to buy a motorcycle. Price was very low, to good to be true; Tried to call, person never picked up phone, so I emailed. They email back, saying the bike is out of state. Then I said ok, later on it ended up they wanted me to wire transfer money to someone in Florida.... Yet it was posted on Craiglist in Cali, lol.

The craigslist page was flagged for removal. It was a scam. I punched the vin in on google and the car was actually for sale in NJ At a dealership
