Need Advice ~ Parting Out??

Hey whats up guys, it does not look like my car is going to be selling anytime soon dispite some of the interest I recieved. With that being said, a lot of people told me that if I part my whole car out (lol) that there is a good chance I will be able to get somewhere in the ballpark of the price..... I did the math and it looks like they might be right.

The problem I am having is that I went through great extent making sure the car was top notch etc etc etc.. There is so much time and labor in it that I don't know if I can justify just...... parting it out.......

Now because I marked the price down so much from what I paid for it.... I did some brief math and it really would not matter if I sold it for my asking price or just parted it out.

I am not doubting that the parts will sell fast etc etc, but I don't even know if I want to sell it now! lol

If someone in a similiar situation can chime in and let me know if they regreted selling their monster 2 months later that would be great, because the grass is always greener on the other side. I am just worried when I get back to the States if I will be kicking myself in the *** for selling this beast

Input would be greatly appreciated,

S.

Any chance you can ship it to yourself in Europe? You put alot of work/$$ into that car... Then again, you could go buy an FQxxx

PM me if you end up parting it out. I am also in Chicago, and like some of the stuff you have on the car.

What is the greener pasture you are seeking? How does what you want compare to what you have? It does sounds like you arent looking for an excuse to sell but for an excuse to keep it...

lmao! I tried so hard!!!! After one of the members gave me the idea to ship it to Europe I smacked myself in the face for not thinking about it lol. Sadly my car would be sent right back as soon as it gets off of the container. I spoke with a couple people on the European forum, they laughed . Hell if I could get it there and registered I could sell it for 3 times the amount I paid for it ( I exaggerated but, I really would be able to sell it for A LOT )

Honestly, I dont know. For one I do not know how to work Ebay, and I am scared of selling it. I have gone through a lotttttttt with this car to make it top notch, and if I put it on Ebay there is a chance it might sell I have a little more time to figure things out, so I just let the thread die until I know for sure what I want to do.

You are right I am looking for an excuse to keep it lol The greener pasture I seek is that I won't have to worry about my car when I am in Europe. When I get back though................... yea

Thanks for the input,

Isn't there somewhere you could store the car safely?I had to sell a car before that I had spent 5 years putting together. The only reason I parted the car out was because I was afraid if I kept it it would get stolen anyways.I still miss the car Keep your car man!

Sorry mate but who told you that you cannot import your car to Europe??? Which country are you going to (judging by your nick you are either Russian or Bulgarian) and what people did you talk to? Trust me, you can import your car to Europe, just like a European can import their car to the US and drive it around. It takes time and it will take money but you can do it. Each country has its own laws, but most in the EU are similar when it comes to stuff like this...

I think a lot of the problems that he may have is dealing with the Customs service in whichever country he is going to and having to deal with US customs. He may also have to have to deal with whatever the equivalent of DOT and EPA is oversees. You can't just import a car from oversees and just drive the car around without going through the proper steps to make the car legal to drive in the US or other countries. If you bring a car from oversees that is not a USDM model and the car cannot not be legally registered in the states, than one the of the easiest ways is the bring the car in under a TIB(Temporary Importation Under Bond). The only thing with a TIB is that the car can only be driven for a year in the states and than it has to be sent back. It would make more sense to just store the car here if they plan to keep the car.

Exactly, not only that but I will have to pay insane amounts of money to get it registered ( If it were even possible )

Thanks,

Honestly, it sounds like you dont want to sell it. If that is the case, dont sell it. You are trying to find excuses to not sell it, so you must not want to, so dont!

Take care,
